What the tweet suggests doesn't even make sense, because if the kick progresses than Morata is even further offside.

But I agree, the line looks weird. The line starts in the armpit of the Verona player, but for Morata it seems halfway down his arm. It's a good job we didn't sign Adama Traore as his shoulders would be offside in every attack.

Agree on Berna's part. He was running to make him ahead defender and CB for the cross then the Verona CB hug him from the back and made him fall so the ball can be taken by their GK.

I'm sure if Juve is the one defending, it will go to VAR or caused controversy when it didn't go to penalty.

Rules is rules when they apply it to offside even for it comes to interpretation of the frame and line.But they don't apply it to the foul. Hugging from the back which block the opponent's run is a foul

For the offside, Referee and Linesman can continue the play and when it came to a goal they reviewed VAR and can call it off. But how about if linesman call it an offside contentiously and stop the good chance of play. It will cancel the opportunity to score the goal even when its not offside. I watch there are 2 calls on Dybala and Ramsey being offside, but the replay didn't review it.

The refferee reports should be made public so we know whether it wasn't reviewed or if it was how come it wasn't given. The one on Berna was even worse.

Morata’s goal against Bayern in 2016 which likely would have seen us through to QFs is a good example. Dude was almost a metre onside.

I think VAR should only be able to overturn egregious decisions, but that’s just my opinion.

They would have stood, the linesmen literally didn't flag?

You could go down a winners list of trophies over the years and change many of them with the current VAR rules but you can only play to what the current technology and rules allow.

No way, that would completely change the dynamics of the game. You'd have bunches of players just standing around the goal and the ball being pumped into the penalty area like in Aussie Rules. It would be ridiculous, like being able to throw the ball forward in rugby. It becomes a different sport completely (i.e. rugby > American handegg).

The whole VAR thing really changed football and something needs to be changed.
Im not criticizing its decisions but more of the fluidity of the game.

Maybe the offside rule needs changing to feets only instead of a nose in offside (Iaquinta would have hated VAR)
As for penalties - Something that stuck the game less must be applied

The thing is that should the ref point to the spot - VAR wouldnt interfere.

I don’t know that’s the case here, that they chose the wrong frame, it’s very hard to say, but choose the pass leaving a millisecond or two earlier and he’s onside. And that’s my problem with VAR deciding fractional offsides.

Sometimes if the player were running forward full speed,, those millisecond frames could be a decent distance.

On human interpretation, more Technologu can be added to VAR where computers decide the exact time frame when the ball left from the passing player or when he first kicked it.. as per the rule (as far as i know, its when the ball leaves not when it was touched for the pass)

This way it is implemented equally on all situation

Still I agree on VAR being only used for obvious mistakes..
