+ he panicked whenever he had the ball in our box
At one point i was cursing Molinaro for being suspended. That's how bad De Ceglie played.
I dont know why Allen, but you are really biased on this matter (so am i)
And do you remember how DC protected our ball between two players the first time he got it? Have you ever seen Molinaro to do smth like that. Do you think he will ever be able to do the same?
DC, like Zambro is an all around player. His creative side is strong with him, but he is still very young. We can harvest his talent and manipulate it, adjusting into our needs.
The cheapest way would be to turn him into a LM and Giovinco into a SS, so that we save the money needed to buy Neddy's and DP's replacements.
Our defense as a whole was bad yesterday, Grygera and Mellberg werent any better than DC. And they have been regular starters and they have much more exp and less excuses.
However we didnt concede! How did that happened?? Are you going to contradict your "numbers" this time?
I dont know about you guys, but i was expecting that pressure
and i admire CR for having the balls and to start with Marchisio, instead of a second DM. This defense had two starters less. Co operation and coverage are essential in the defensive line, sometimes, they even outrank quality's importance!
And yet, CR took the risk, in a decisive game, against a very dangerous opponent. (while also having the option not to so)
A strong team able to do, what Fiorentina did yesterday!
And the risk payed off, Marchisio was the link our team needed, our midfield with our forward line were linked and with Marchionni's contributions, we created a lot of chances! The way Marchisio hold the ball and scored, cannot be repeated by any other DM/CM we have. His attacking instincts kicked in and he scored his first goal with us! His role is very underrated in these forums, but i am sure that CR is aware of his value/importance!
Nedved was really very bad at his offensive duties yesterday.
But we had no real alternatives. His successor, DC, was playing in another position and CR had other plans for Giovinco. We have been hinted for months that Giovinco is destined for a more offensive role. Him subbing DP was a clear message to all.
Shame that DP responded with the way he did, but i know how it feels at this particular moment.
At a moment he had the opportunity to change things and secure the win
and the next one he became a spectator, like the rest of us.
He had a good game overall and he was rather creative, with well placed passes and timing!
Buffon was almost as good as Frey!! He is back!!
And as for Marchionni, c' mon guys, that was certainly not, one of his bad days!
I believe that i have been his greatest critic this season, but yesterday, he really had a positive contribution and has finally shown his worth.
Truth is that he was unmarked, but he took his chances!
He is not to blame for Frey's world class saves and interceptions.
Somehow i expected to see what i did, i expected to see lady luck smile on us, as a pay back, for the way she smiled to Fiorentina last time.
Despite the goals and woodworks, i never actually feared that we are going to drop those points. Poetic justice or pure luck, i dont know, but thats exactly what i expected to see from a Mutu-less Fiorentina, as i stated in my first posts in this thread. The refs really do have smth against Fiorentina, could be retribution, or a preventive strike? Whatever it is, it is sad to see, that, after all what happened, there still is someone, able to control the refs and manipulate a team's performances and position on the table. I only wonder who protects us this year...
mourinho and co will be shitting now! i got a news in channel 4 saying that In five out of six occasions when Juventus have finished sole runners-up to the Winter Champions, they have gone on to win the Scudetto.
is it true?
It was a tradition we respected for many years and broke under Capello, some natural phenomenons, like the winter-crisis were to blame, but i remember us respecting this superstition. It usually was a duel with Milan, one team had the better start and right when they were confident enough, the winter crisis kicked in, due to fatigue and a temporal loss of focus, since the primary target was met.
That allowed the runner up to build a momentum for the counter attack
and use it, to overcome themselves. Althought today, things are different.
Today we have a dominant power, no one can follows.
A paper champion, a team of chokers and mercenaries, baptized champions.
And the rest... the rest of the league is a mere shadow of the former selves.
There has been a decline after the scandal, Italy has never recovered.
The old Juve and Milan would lead this league with 10-15 points ahead of us and Inter, forcing each other to improve and become nearly perfect, with little tolerance for mistakes and imperfections.
But in Moratti's league, there is no competition! This is reflected both in our transfers and on the frequency and the way, big teams flop.
Only us and Milan, can end this and cure Serie A, before its too late.
Milan was in a far greater position and they ought to do that already.
But it seems that Calciopoli touched in ways, we are not aware of
and they have chosen to protect their prestige, rather than threaten Inter.
Our hate and the champions heart, is the last hope. Roma proved last year, that Inter is not running in this league, the barely try to win it and they can do better when they a re forced to. But they are still Inter, they cant handle the pressure of winning a title they are really worthy of.
If we put the pressure on them and we are allowed to stand firm, (by the refs+press+internal problems) then "impossible is nothing"...
true but saying that we don't deserve 3pts when we won is pure complacency, not unbiased objectivity
you may believe that we played poorly today but that doesn't mean that the win wasn't earned. its a point race not a beauty pageant.
We were robbed two points before, that was retribution!
It feels right, doesnt it? Morally it does feel right.
But nature has proven that poetic justice doesnt always...happen...
A non Juve fan who hasnt seen the previous one and judges by objective and unbiased standards would have a different opinion on this game.
But we know better
