licht doesnt get as far up the pitch as isla would do EFFECTIVELY...we need to give their flanks something to think about and isla would do just that...and i prefer isla's delivery to licht's he just has more attacking instinct than steiner...
don't know about that, isla reminds me of asamoah on the other end, doesn't actually whip in any crosses, just cut backs mostly, or low drives, licht on the other hand mainly floats the ball into the area.

Lazio is a tricky team and I wont think its a walk in the park with Klose in there, especially when he is on form. Klose is a striker who will pounce on you and score when you have a lapse of concentration. However Lazio's defence is shaky and with Lulic and Mauri suspended, go for the kill in the 1st half. If we are 2 goals ahead, we can slow down the tempo a bit to conserve energy in the 2nd half. Furthermore this game allows the players who will be in the Chelsea game to have continuity and consistency. By then Pirlo will be rested against Chelsea and we are all set

Should we fail to score in the 1st half, put in Giovinco at the 60th minute to create terror for the Lazio defence

:agree: I think a lot of people tend to underrate Pirlo's defensive contribution. You always see him throughout the game robbing opposition players of the ball and sticking out a quick leg to block a shot or pass.

Hmm, I'd argue against that being true.
yeah, e thing about pirlo i that he does important stuffs so subtly and make it look so easy. thats the reason why his contribution goes unnoticed. Amateur football fans who thinks that having good defensive ability means muscling out opponents and sliding in like a kungfu master to kill both the ball and the player will never understand that. That's the reason why EPL defenders like Jerkoff Terry will always be a player that will never be world-class but adored by amateur football fans.

He makes the odd tackle - but most of the time an opposition player just brushes him aside when dribbling 1v1.

Pirlo is subpar defensively most of the time, if you truly put him to the standards of a holding mid that should defend and win balls more effectively, he wouldnt hold up, but its not his task. He gets stuck in at times and pressures with the ball, especially with his timing and intelligence, but is overally lacking in this department.

I'm going to this game! :jvefan: cannot wait!

Obviously with 3 tricky games in a row, we need to be mindful about the squad however we can't take any points for granted so I would start with:

Buffon

Barzagli Bonucci Chiellini

Isla (Lichtsteiner) Vidal Pogba Marchisio Asamoah

Vucinic (Giovinco) Quagliarella

If we can get a good lead then sub off Vidal, Marchisio, Vucinic/Quagliarella.

Hope it will be a good game and maybe I'll get to see Bendtner's first goal for Juve! :lol2:

Lotito: Lazio would not score six goals against their opponents as sign of respect

--

Put six past that clown!
It's baffling to me that they never seem to realize that these kinda statements only makes us wanna fuck them up more... it actually makes us stronger.
