I dont agree to those who say we have no options in LB except Molinaro - Zebina, Biri and even Brazzo can play there, i believe they would be as good as the short-term solutions for 5 millions. Lets trust in our players first and then search for replacements. And hands off Ranieri, he is doing almost maximum with this squad, all these injuries doesnt really help.

Biri is about to retire, he can hardly make a 90' match, he is slower than Molinaro but he is still much better defensive wise, the problem is that he is an 100% RB, his left leg wont help him to do a decent cross and he cant learn any new tricks at this age. From the right flank, even at his age he can attack more effectively than Molinaro will ever able to, i will never forget his run and brilliant cross to Zala against Real at CL.
Grygera is still young but he has been tested as an LB and seriously sucked, not that anyone can do it worse than Molinaro though.
More or less same thing is valid for constantly injured Zebina too.
These players are RBs and they can not change sides,
( Zambro was an exception because he could use both legs) ,
those fellows cant and we knew that by the beginning of the season,
however Chiellini was destined to cover the left flank and the rare times he would be injured, suspended Molinaro could replace him.
That was the plan. A logic plan back then, i want play anyone for that.
The rest of the players, you mentioned, able to play as LB, are destined only as very urgent solutions, right now we need a starter for this position, for the rest of the season!
The only man that could fill that place is Salih, he can use both legs and indeed he is a viable solution, at least as long as it is still needed for Andrade to return and Chiellini to return to the left flank.
(another priority is to decide what are we going to do with Chiellini)
But Salih, despite being 100X times more effective than Molinaro offensively,
he proved many times over that he cant defend right, so he cant be our permanent LB solution, our squad really needs a proper LB, this is the position we hurt the most right now, all of our current options are countermeasures.
I dont know why CR havent tested Salih for that place, but i have to reckon that i havent seen Salih to that position before, i ve only seen him as RB,RM and LM.
If CR had any intentions to move Salih at that position he would have tried that by now,
for his own reasons he doesnt trust Salih as a LB, either be it, Salih skills with his left leg, or CR's stupidity. One way or another, he is not an option for an LB either.
Molinaro is only option for LB and this is the only reason he plays despite his performances...

And you dare compare Molinaro with any 5mill valuable player in the world:inter:

i watched this game in between all the studying but even four cups of coffee couldn't help me from falling asleep. this was a very boring display and i didn't really like the tactics we applied. it simply didn't work yesterday.

Honestly, a bunch of members here don´t deserve to be fans of this great team. What do you call this behaviour of tonight, insulting everything you can remember? Shame on you. Go support other teams which are winning easily at the moment if you can´t take this kind of performances from Juve.
You are satisfied with a useless performance against Catania? I'm complaining because I want more from my team, I want them to be the best in the world, not some average team who doesn't perform.

If I wasn't a supporter I would have been swapping teams every time they made a bad performace. But guess what, I haven't swapped teams in all my life, so don't tell me to go off and support another team. In our history, we have been more successful than any other Italian club, and we have the resources to be one of the best in the league. I'm not expecting us to win the Scudetto straight away, but if we want to do something then we need to replace players who are not good enough for competing in the Champions League, and get some depth in our squad. I want us to be good like we were before Calciopoli, and better. No, I don't think that Molinaro is good enough for our first team squad week in week out. Yes, I do want us to buy defenders and become strong in the defense because that is where we are weakest. Yes, I do want us to replace Nedved who is about to retire, because last night he was our best player on pitch. I want us to be that clubs who wins all their games, because that is what Juventus is about. I don't want us to lose silly points to Catania, because Milan are known to be really good in the second half of the season. We are lucky that they are playing awful so far, but we need to maintain our performances and really make sure there is no way back.

This season will be hard and frustrating, but we all firmly in the 3rd place, above all odds. Bunch of crybabeis and gloryhunters, we want Van der Vaart, Ronaldinho, Diego, nothing less. Boo-hoo. Get a grip. Show some support to your team.
When did I not support my team? When did any of us say that we wanted us to lose? Of course we want Juve to win. Wanting our team to do better and become the best is what football is about, and until you learn that playing a rubbish game against Catania, with the players we have in comparison to theirs, is bad, you will never know what my point is.

Oh, and I am choking at you suggesting that we want Ronaldinho. Washed up player who thinks he is bigger than everyone else. He can fuck off to Milan for all I care.

So who the fuck do you want then? Do you want us to buy Serie C players for Champions League? We will get embarrassed. Van der Vaart is a quality player in my opinion, and with a retiring Nedved, we need a quality replacement for him. Nedved won a fucking Ballon d'Or. We need someone who is world class to replace him, not some average Joe.

I'm sure everyone here wants to beat Inter, and until we have bought great players and have a lot of depth, we won't be near them. While they are beating teams with ease, we are winning on pieces of really good skill from some of the only great players in our team.

We didn´t play well but at least we are fighting and if we manage to fight out throughout this season and manage to get a CL spot, things cannot get but better.
Answer me this. How are things going to get better if we have a shallow squad and no replacement for Nedved? With one injury to Camo, and we have lost most of the crossing ability in the team, Zanetti made the best cross of the game last night. That is what we are looking at in ability. Oh wait, I think that Van der Vaart is capable of crossing. But no, we don't want quality players for our squad, we need to get shitty ones who will only contribute to more blunders all over the pitch.

BULLSHIT !!

More performances like tonight, and we can kiss 3rd place goodbye, and say hello to 5th

Nice to know that no one can criticise the team, we just have to accept things the way they are, otherwise you arent a true fan

I know myself and posters like Cronios and Andy havent been satisfied with our play, even when we've won

I am frustrated watching us struggle so much....
Thank fuck for you.

But that doesn't matter when we're looking at style, tactics, etc. Our style of play is God awful, just as it was under Capello, except worse. You know, a lot of people don't want to go down that road again, but here we are. More shitty football.

One of the reasons why I liked Ranieri at first is because he was good with new players and used different tactics, generally playing good football at Chelsea and Valencia. But he hasn't lived up to the past in that respect here at Juventus.

We're losing points fucking around with the same old shit.
You know how it is around here, brother. We aren't "real" fans because we put the side's performances in their place.
No no no Andy. You aren't a real fan for wanting the best from your club. GO SUPPORT INTER! YOU ARE NO JUVENTUS FAN! HOW DARE YOU WANT THE BEST FOR YOUR CLUB!

why aren't we linked to vargas? He's been great this season.....
I liked him a lot. Vargas would be a good left back. I can't see him joining though.

I dont agree to those who say we have no options in LB except Molinaro - Zebina, Biri and even Brazzo can play there, i believe they would be as good as the short-term solutions for 5 millions. Birindelli? Are you fucking kidding me? He is knocking on the retirement door. We have trusted Molinaro enough, it is time for someone better.

Camo is the only real bad injury. We have no excuse for having an awful defense. We buy Andrade who is made of glass so what are we supposed to expect.

I think that Boumsong is a huge loss. I really do.

No need to argue about the mistakes of our managers no more,
i was referred to them, because the transfer window is still open and (on theory) they can still fix some of our problems today by making just one or two acquisitions,
such opportunities havent arisen every day and no other game up until now offered us, such privileges. We can fix our problems, before it will be too late!
When Andrade + Boum boum got injured and Criscito was out-muscled by Totti,
we have decided, we have no other option than to taste Chie as a CB and a make starter out of Molinaro, but right now we have no excuses, Molinaro is our only option as an LB, if he gets injured/suspended/or score 3 own goals there is no other man to replace him and will play no matter what!
When are we going to fix that?? Next season?? Why?????????????
We can find hundreds of players like Mellberg, available just for a 2-5mil,
get one and move Chie to the left, half of our defensive problems would be fixed that way, as simple as that, but we are bound to repeat the same mistakes and keep on like that...
Our managers, from now on have absolutely no excuses for any grave mistake that our silly defense, will commit in the future. Goal.com said we have 20 mil available to spend in the winter transfer and we only need 5, FFs, we are Juventus. Our problem is painfully obvious week in, week out, we need a new defender, signing Sissoko or any other Nocerino+Tiago+Almiron replacer should be our secondary objective for this transfer window. And yet...
Im tired of pointing this out, i ve been doing this from the beginning of the season,
some ppl will never learn...

For the ones who dont know all the football rules, i have to point out one thing!
when the defender touches the ball first and then the player, it is considered a valid taclin and it is not a foul (penalty in the box)
That was the case yesterday when DP earned that penalty, he shouldnt...
you know...I know me and you didn't see eye to eye last summer, but I have grown to respect you and agree with (a lot of) your posts. including this one.

Hindsight is always 20/20. It's easy to nit pick at every decision the club makes after the fact. Under the circumstances, I think they handled the mercato well, although Im obviously dissapointed with the outcome.

At the end of the day, were a club fresh from serie b, with an entirely new squad and coach, sitting in 3rd place. Unless we fall out of a CL spot, this season has been going well. There is obviosuly room for improvement, but some ppl here have unrealistic expectations. It will take time to be a complete team once again.

this has only been mentioned once (I think), but who shall we blame for playing Nocerino on the right side in the first half, when everyone knows he can't play there, and has a cross thats just as bad as Molinaro ?

it was a shambolic performance compared to our other games, it was soo poor creatively, and if ranieri doesnt see that, well we will just have to wait for camoranesi and givovinco for next season. :disagree:

We should blame Andy for wanting Tiago to play :D

Seriosly, some people should understand that ,with our defense, when we play tough home matches and when we play away matches where other teams attack us, we are simply forced to play with two defensive midfielders. That's a fact, wanted to admit or not.

Now, if we have to play these matches with 2 defensive midfielders and if you want Tiago to play then we'll either have to play without a proper ML or without a proper MR.

If Ranieri started with Marchionni instead of Tiago then everyone would have been on Ranieri's back for not playing Tiago.
Now when he started with Tiago but without a MR we blame Ranieri for playing Nocerino on the right side.
And if we started with both Tiago and Marchionni and sacrificed one of Zanetti/Nocerino all of us would have attacked Ranieri when we would have been raped in the midfield.

Can someone tell me how shall we play against the teams that don't just sit back and wait for us to destroy them ?

Face it, I support Juve but the display this afternoon was awful!

Even, Chiellini was panicking from time to time. My credit goes to DP, woh put a lot of effort, but he was fouled a lot, so he couldn't doo more except from grabbing point for us! Grazie capitano!!!

good analysis when you put it like that, tbh my anger has just been built up since he said we arent buying VDV, whether he meant it or not, that game showed such a lack of creativity and any of our midfield taking a hold of the game.

my point is that we've already leaned that Nocerino is definitely not the answer on the right, and Ranieri should have tried something else

I know, and you're absolutely right. My point was that whatever Ranieri does someone will find a reason to attack him.

And Ranieri did try something else after the opening 3 rounds when he saw how our defense is bad and how Nocerino can't play MR.
That's why Tiago and Almiron became bench players and Nocerino played as pure DMC.
And it worked well, i must say.

But people wanted Tiago, he started playing better and Ranieri gives him a chance. But to give Tiago a chance to play in our current situation you must have 2 defensive midfielders around him or the wingers must play good defense.
Since yesterday we didn't have wingers that can play defense we were simply forced to play one of our defensive midfielders on the right.
This way we lose from our attacking power but we get more on defense.
It's up to the coach to decide what's more important in the particular match : better attack or better defense. Ranieri decided that against Catania in Sicily it was more important to be better defensively.

I think we're focusing a lot on the transfer market in our analysis and we're forgetting that we have 23 players that should be used wisely to obtain the best results if not the best performances. I know we need some investment in the defensive departement and the midfield too. Still, it belongs to the coach to put in a lineup who could be up to the task.
Ranieri introduced Tiago maybe at the wrong time - I say maybe - because the catania side was very tough offensivley. He said that we won't seek alibis and trezeguet didn't recieve any cross. Well, then why not put in Iaquinta or marchionni very earlier.

Still, it's football and we'll be alawys supporting our team.

As i said before, tiago needs space to driver our midfield. It was not the case yesterday

yes Andy, I do think we played well. I dont give up supporting my team and calling players and coach with bad name. After we conceded a goal, everyone turns against Ranieri. Now I am expecting you ,Dule, Rebel and few others to go to Ranieri tread and write some shit..
Your and my fucking tiago was shit if you ask me, among Milinaro..
Do I know you, my dear?
