I blaim Europa League, we really shouldn't be in that league, this squad don't have the quality players to field a different team twice a week.

Negs:
Bonucci and Chiellini need to stop launching the ball in to defence
Without Krasic we seem poor
Marchisio isn't a winger, nice to try him there, but it isn't being effective imo
Storari might be injured
Ianquinta...
The crossing needs to stop, those endless crosses with IQ, DP and Quag in the box are rubbish

Pro's:
Martinez could be better playing as a SS, he isn't suited as a winger, he has quite the first touch, I'd have to give him that
Clean sheat
De Ceglie looked better, he improved under Del Neri (a bit) but at a moment he ran like he had hot coles under his bare feet

i get bashed for this every time on this forum but for crying out loud how can we ever manage to compete again if we have a 36yr old striker whos so freakin slow(mudingayi raped del piero today),a fukin dumbass in iaquinta(shit first touch, zero iq and retarded penalty) and a fkn lethargic crybaby in amauri

we need a top top striker (dzeko, benzema etcc..) and a better 2nd choice striker than what we have now definitely

enough with del piero, iaquinta and amauri..they are holding our team back

only difference is del piero is a legend when the other two are really nobodys!!!

and enough with the links to maxi lopez, matri and whoever else is mediocre..we already have way more mediocrity then we can afford

PLEASE DZEKO!!!and CASSANO!!!

I blame Serie A. There are too many teams in Serie A, so we have to play too many matches for our ability. They should go back to 18 teams, it's not fair to us.

Storari - n/a or 6 - for all intents and purposes, he had a day off, with the exception of a vital save on a serious deflection. tough job to stand still for 90 minutes and then have that sort of reflex.

De Ceglie - 6.5 - a good game from him, all-around. defended very well (it's an impotent Bologna, but whatever), and had a handful of decent forward movements. lately he's gone up a level (albeit the previous level wasn't particularly high), but credit due.

Motta - 5 - didn't like him too much today as the highlight was getting turned inside out by gimenez late on. suspect defending, as usual, and nothing came off for him going forward

Chiellini - 5.5 - tidy when called upon, which was almost never, guilty of launching aimless balls ahead that were inevitably just turned over to Bologna. how about playing the ball out of the back once in a while? please?

Bonucci - 5.5 - same as the above. as it stands, though, he was not worth 15.5m euros. not at all. consistent, but unspectacular. hopefully he grows into that value.

Melo - 6.5 - another good game, and it must be said, he's forming a very formidable partnership with aquilani. they complement each other quite well. this guy's passing is so underrated. proved today what's already been seen this season - that he's an essential player for us now. drive and grit.

Aquilani - 6.5 - as aforementioned, melding well with melo. his passing and overall technique on the ball is a real pleasure to watch. the definition of a play director, setting the tempo. he'd benefit tremendously from having a proper option to pass to on the left and upfront (where, embarrassingly, Iaquinta can't even handle a fucking direct ball)

Krasic - 6 - started out very lively, as per usual, notably when he kept pressing in the box, stole the ball, and set up a point blank opportunity Quag inexplicably didn't take. took on defenders, but seemed to go down hill after being on the receiving end of a hostile crowd. a sign of weak character or just running out of steam? I can't decided at the moment. it's a real shame we don't have someone similar on the opposite side to share the burden with him. he's under a lot of pressure to support us.

Marchisio - 5.5 - didn't care for the decision to play him on the left (out of position) against poor opposition. sure, when we need some stability against Inter or whatever, but Bologna? no. we ended up not exploiting the whole left side of the field because he kept straying to the center, and he doesn't have the tools to do the job on the flank properly. had a couple of decent opportunities on goal, but otherwise forgettable.

Amauri - n/a - frustrated me right from the start. had two brilliant opportunities (corner and perfect cross from Motta, I believe) to take, but couldn't head on target. i mean, when this is your specialty, do something with it. speaking of which, when is the last time this guy has scored a non-tap goal with his foot? his injury, nevertheless, is not good for us.

Quagliarella - 5 - the lowlight was not burying that point blank chance (or, you can look at it as exceptional defending). needs to involve himself to a greater degree, as he still seems to go in and out of the game. made a killer pass to Iaquinta leading up to Krasic's dive.

Del Piero - n/a - days like today underline that he's just about finished. constantly looking for the slightest contact to go down anywhere in free kick range, and it's a bit sad, to be honest. too weak, too slow, but still, so far ahead of the rest of our strikers in terms of technique on the ball and actually getting into dangerous positions.

Iaquinta - 3 - offside! foul the defender! poor touch! end of.

Martinez - n/a or 5.5 - not enough to judge, to be fair, but I actually thought he did quite well. has a bit of trickery to his game, and I'm interested in seeing him play as a support striker. made some incisive movements into their box, which was tough considering Bologna was playing their entire team back.

I don't know what to say. We just lacked in ideas and creativity.

I liked De Ceglie today. He definitely is improving. He needs to improve his crossing.

Aquilani and Melo were also good. I especially liked Melo. He's finally justifying his 25M price tag. It's a shame our attack lacked so much quality today.

Krasic was not at his best today because there was absolutely no space for him. He had no where to move. You put Krasic one on one against any fullback in serie A, and there's a very good chance Milos will outrun him and either get us a goal or a penalty. But when you put him up against 3 or 4 defenders, he'll start drifting to to the center the way he did today and he won't be very dangerous.

Iaquinta should just stop playing football. Honestly, he was disgraceful. Amauri actually managed to pose a threat even in the 10 or 11 minutes that he played today. That's what I mean when I say he's our best striker. He's physically stronger than Iaquinta, he jumps higher. He's just astonishingly bad at finishing lately. I just don't understand it.

Del piero can't be blamed for anything. Of course he's going to try to fall down easily to get a free kick. Bologna was defending with 11 men. A set piece was our best chance to get a goal.

I like Motta a lot more than Grygera. He's faster, he's more dangerous going forward, and he tracks back well. His only problem is that he can sometimes be tactically clueless.

Chiellini and Bonucci were fine. Enough long balls though, seriously. You aren't going to break down any side in the world by doing that.

And maybe the only positive we can take from this is Martinez. He's clearly technically superior to most of the players we have. He doesn't have the pace to play on the wing but he does have the trickery to be in an attacking position. I think he can play as a traquerista maybe, or preferably a support striker. We'll see.
