Third best defence allowed 20 goals. No one else allowed less than 33 (Milan).
I'm a little unsure as to how Zach judges best defence. Usually one goes with the team that plays the best defence. Zach has another measuring stick apparently...

Our defensive line ? Bonucci was often critisized. You can go through the game threads from back then. Chiellini was good and licht means we for once didnt had shit on both wings. Oh the fullback issue times
Milan had T. Silva, best cb in the world at that point, and the Nesta who later that season put Messi in his back pocket. One winger was inferior to Licht, the other was as good as whatever shit we put on the left or better.
I tought Inter still had Samuel, was wrong, so make it second best defence.
We played a very aggressive organised game. Entirely revolving on murdering the opponent and hitting them on the recovery through pirlo. We didnt won that first scudetto. Milan lost it when they were in a horrific injury crisis and 3 competitions and zlatan, who was keeping them in all of them, finally started to run out of breath
it was a great satisfaction that scudetto. But Milan lost it. And we won it because conte took a greatly inferior team, and made it work. Players failing or beeing past it like Marchisio, Chiellini, Pirlo combined with players suddenly pushing incredibly above their weight like Pepe, Matri, etc. That was Conte.

I'm very pleased to see everyone suck and gorge on Bonucci's penis these days. I'll remind you how that 95% was absolutely trashing him in his first two seasons here.
Nesta-Silva was greatly superior to Bonucci-Chiellini. Licht was better then both milan backs, but they were both better then whatever shit was on the wing.
Milan had a terrible injury crisis, which saw them leak goals but they outscored it. While in 3 competitions. We had 1 competition and ran 200% each game, the insane workrate, thanks conte, of the midfield and attack allowed the team as a whole to be very effective defensively
SO if you mean '"defence" as the entire team. Yeah, we were much better. But i'm reading that as he ment the back 4. Which was much better then ours that year. In fact, it was the last year juve didnt had the best defence in the league.

That Nesta that put Messi in his backpocket only started 16 out of 38 games that season though. Zambrotta only 10. even Silva missed 11 league games that season and they more than often had to play guys like Antonini, Mexes, Yepes. Abate was a starter for them that season. On paper maybe it's true, in reality it wasnt as good as our backline
