He definitely has talent, but consistency has always been his problem. With that said, I would love to see him back on this team, but he wouldn't start that many games and that would start problems once again.

If I were Giovinco, I would stay with Parma, this way I would get a chance to play every game and be kind of a hero. With us he would be just another player on the bench.

The loan was a good idea. He needed playing time after riding the bench for 2 years. What was foolish was the option to co-own for such a measly fee. I understand the option to co-own gives the club an incentive to play him, as they now have a monetary interest in seeing the player shine, but with Parma they most likely would have given him playing time anyway since survival in the top flight is worth more, an objective Seba would certainly aid in considering the alternatives in their squad.

Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever see him back at Juventus. Italian managers will never play him as a winger, nor will they play him ahead of Quag and Del Piero upfront. Minus a miracle change in formation, we will not bring him back.

Seba's career at Juventus highlights why our managements ramblings about youth is nothing but fluff. I remember after calciogate, Gigli or Blanc stated how their goal was to produce talents like Ronaldinho through the youth set up, rather than spend millions to sign the finished article. Giovinco was 1 of the best talents our youth set up has produced in years, coming through at a time where there was certainly room for him to play, and look how things have turned out.

Loaning him out could have been a good thing if we had a decent replacement. We brought back frickin Lanzafame but sent Gio out

Another thing is that he left on bad terms, which always sucks. IF we were to loan him out, why not on good terms?

Last, why.. WHY the option on 50% of his contract? The likes of Bari I think was ready to loan him but we insisted on the 1 mln loan fee and 3,5 mln for 50%? We got fucking robbed.

I wouldn't give up all hope on him returning to Juve. Parma obviously want to take up their option for half his registration, but its up to Giovinco essentially, not just Parma. If we act swiftly in terms of appointing a proper manager, who has followed us this season, and also has knowledge of the other players we own, who are out on loan, or co-owned and playing elsewhere, then its logical for him, the new Boss, to have a chat with giovinco. Let's say its Didier...wishful thinking, but still possible. if didier calls sebastian, tells him he wants him..then it would be likely than the talented imp would thank parma for their hospitality and run back to turin into didier's frog arms.

His goal was wickedly taken, and illustrated so much of our many problems. Complete ineptitude at fullback, 2 players literally standing off him, a third had not the time to close him down...and giovinco himself, explosive shooting, dribbling past players...speedy. It made me feel sorry for DP, to see all our hopes of salavaging a draw hinge upon a 37 year old winning free kicks around the box.

His form at parma has been steady, often wicked, but unsurprising really. At worst...we lose half of him for 3m(the set option). then parma want to sell him to a better club for much more than 6m, lets say 10m...so we end up pocketing another 5m...so 1m for the loan, 3m for one half, 5m for the other hald...not a complete loss. But I would prefer the player himself to be given a season at Juve, under a proper manager. speed, invention, dribbling, flair...everything we lack in ONE offensive player.

epic image...that's how you properly get rid of a talent that hits your primavera once at 5 years...i don't wanna think how wenger would've transformed him
That picture sums up what he's done for parma and it's fans. They put there hopes in him and he repaid them. Something we failed too, in all honesty if staying in parma makes him happy then I wouldn't be against it. Cept for where can I buy a parma jersey online :p
