Criscito. He ended up wanting to stay with Genoa because we didn't give him a chance. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happened to Giovinco, along with several other players in the future if we continue on this course.

But yes, I understand that if Giovinco wants to stay at Parma, they'll be a lot of "fuck you traitor" comments to Seba from the camp around here, even though it will be totally our fault.
Exactly, fuck the traitor and infidel. Unbelievable how easily people forget loyalty.
I don't think so either. But hey, playing time is all that matters, right?
He will do well, produce some magic, provide some assists and nice freekicks...and each time we will not learn from our mistakes. "But hey, playing time is all the matters."

Ah, him.

Makes sense though that he wanted to stay at Genoa, since he clearly wasn't / isn't good enough for a top club.
Let's also not forget the little fact that we never wanted him back in the first place.

But the same thing could indeed happen to Seba.

People who call Criscito a traitor are just as ridiculous as the ones claiming we didn't treat him right.

He was never given a good chance at a top club. And by that thought a player in a smaller club that excels in that team must not be good enough for a top club, right?

That's speculation.

Something tells me it would be sensical to dump Grosso and bring back Criscito, but again, that's just me.

It's also a bit humorous to say that Criscito isn't fit for a top club when we have Grosso and DC as our left backs.

Then again, we aren't really a top club anymore.

Why doesn't Serie A have a reserve league?
I think cost was one factor, not enough teams could afford it, or so they said. Albertini proposed it, also for the teams who want it to have 'B' teams like in Spain. This would probably suit half the teams in Serie A, especially the top 6 or 7.

The thing worth remembering with Criscito is that he was never Juventino, he is Neapolitan and from the Genoa system, so there is no alliegence to us. For many of these other lads they are from Turin and have been with the club since they were very young, the chance to play for this club is of the most importance to them, Criscito was happy anywhere he could play, especially Genoa.

Yeah, me neither. Completely unfair.

I don't quite follow that logic.

Or do you mean that he excels for Genoa?

That's speculation.
Do you really believe that we wouldn't have gotten him back if we wanted to?
A young Italian who was owned in part by us?

No arguments here, though I would prefer someone better than Criscito.

Depends on what you mean by treat him "right." If that means abuse him, then no. But not giving him a proper chance isn't exactly being kind to him either.
We gave him a chance, he failed.
As a result, we gave him the choice between being a bench warmer the rest of the season (& possibly regaining his place) or playing elsewhere.
He went for the 2nd option.

I really don't see what's wrong with that.

Criscito is average at best, so it was a great from him that he didn't want to come back.

If Giovinco shines and Juve want him back, they would tell him that he's coming back to play and he'd prefer to play with Juventus much more than at Parma.

I wouldn't blame Seba if he doesn't come back. He was treated way too unfair when he was at our team. I think he's probably coming back though cause he's loyal and loves the club.

If he didn't want to come back to us, yes. We wouldn't have gotten him back. That's the whole point.

We gave him a chance, he failed.
What, all of four or five matches?

That isn't a proper chance for a youngster. And needless to say this "sink or swim" mentality isn't really conducive of confidence growth either.

FIGC themselves need bit of rejuvenation and new thinking, heh, though started with Albertini a while back (asked for reserve league), Prandelli, and now also Baggio also in adminstrative role of sorts.
But we both know that most likely they won't do anything about it.

Unless Baggio woos them with some great Buddhist quotes.

Thing is, we could have forced him to, since we had a contract with him.

Doesn't really matter anyway. I'd rather avoid players who don't want to play for us.

But what is a proper chance? How long should the club try? There's really no way of knowing that, is there?
And considering that Criscito really hasn't progressed like most people (myself included) had thought, I don't think we messed this up.

Plus, the fact remains, he started the season as a regular, lost his place and instead of fighting to win it back he choose to leave.
