Giovinco is calling for the cancellation of this weekend's matches, and I can't help but agree with him. They're so quick to cancel when the Pope dies or a police officer is killed, but when nearly 300 fellow Italians are dead and many more are without shelter, it's back to normal.

Yeah i agree heres more from that interview:

“Postpone matches” says Giovinco

Following the earthquake tragedy which hit Italy this week, Sebastian Giovinco has called for this weekend’s games to be postponed.

The Juventus attacking midfielder believes it would only be fair to stop the show for a round in memory of the victims.

“I think we shouldn’t play,” he revealed. “To be honest it is the first time that something like this has happened to me.

“The decision to play comes from above us and I cannot say whether it is right or not. If I score I won’t celebrate, but I will dedicate it to all the victims and their relatives.”

Juventus, as well as all the Italian teams, will be playing with a black armband in memory of the disaster which hit the Abruzzo region.

“All my teammates and I have been talking about it constantly. We are also trying to help. They have told us to play so we cannot do anything otherwise. But it will be moving.”

Giovinco also spoke about the major issues to be resolved this season, the championship, Coppa Italia and the Champions League.

“Against Chievo we lost a great chance to stay close to Inter. It will be nice to play Genoa next Sunday though, I like the Marassi because there is a great atmosphere there.

“Regarding the Coppa Italia we have to do everything to win the return leg against Lazio. We will try our best.

“In Europe, I am happy Chelsea won against Liverpool, because they knocked us out and it’s nice to know they will go through.

“I didn’t have any doubts, in both games I would have gambled on the Blues and they will go far.”

So... why the hell didn't he play? This is becoming disgusting. What more proof do you need that Giovinco should be out there 90 minutes every game, Ranieri?

Because the Genoa game was one is which we were always going to struggle down the flanks, so Nedved was seen as a better bet than Giovinco.

I don't entirely disagree with the decision to go with Nedved.

But he could have used him after we went 2-1 down!!!

I know what you mean, but the way we were getting hassled all over the pitch, I can see what Ranieri was thinking, even if I didn't like it
I also understand you...But Ranieri was thinking like always he does...
He isn't willing to take a risk no matter what the situation is !!!
