I despise Rangers, I'll never hide that.

However, I am quite happy to discuss Scottish Football with you in a reasonable fashion.

As long as any critiscisms of my club are backed up with justification, I don't mind. If you look back, I agree with many of Bozi's points about Aberdeen.

Wishing a teams death is bad taste. I wouldn't even wish it on Inter. Besides it's happened before and it's nothing short of tragic.

Wonder where Torino would be today had it not been for that accident.

Indeed, it makes Man Utd's acheivements all the greater.

RANGERS will face Dundee United in the CIS Cup Final after the Tangerines thrashed Aberdeen 4-1 tonight in the other semi-final at Tynecastle.

Aberdeen took the lead through Andrew Considine but United levelled through Darren Dods and then Christian Kalvenes headed Craig Levein's side into a 2-1 lead nine minutes into the second half.

The Dons were up against it when Craig Conway made it 3-1 on 64 minutes and when former United striker Lee Miller was sent off for a second yellow three minutes later their task was almost impossible.

Morgaro Gomis rubbed salt into Aberdeen's wounds when he scored a fourth goal.

It will be the first time Rangers have met United in a major cup final since 1994 when Christian Dailly helped the Tannadice men stop the Light Blues win the "double" Treble in the Scottish Cup Final.

The last time the sides met in the League Cup Final was in 1984/85 when Iain Ferguson scored the winning goal for Rangers.

    Utd deserved to win.

Our defending was suicidal and we bottled it, just we always do under that orange pillock.

were u at the game last night? I thought it would have went to pens........ now we have the emotional final of united wanting to win it for a dying chairman...

on a side note ........ do you remember chris sutton saying dunfermline lay down to rangers on the final day of the 02/03 season? Do you think... or does anyone else think this to be true? Jimmy was pars boss that day

Chris sutton was one of the biggest ever cheaters in the history of scottish football

i remember sutton saying that and i dont think anybody would agree with him. Anybody who watched the game would see that Dunfermline tried their best but Rangers were just so focused that day. remember dunfermline scored and rangers were struggling until McCann came on, it was just sutton showing that he was a bad loser/

i agree that Sutton was a cheat, but he was one hell of a good cheat. He was a fantastic player for Celtic.
yeah i mean rangers beat dunfermline 6-0 in an away match earlier in that very same season......... so his outburst was lame...... ill never forget that day then we had helicopter sunday just 2 years later....

i remember lazio beating inter when juve won the title in 2002 that was a day ill never ever forget despite what massimo moratti says about it now

    I was at the game.

There wasn't much in the game, we just handed Utd stupid goals. They barely created a chance by themselves.

I think Utd pose Rangers a greater danger than Aberdeen would have. Our side don't have the guts to take on the Old Firm in Glasgow. Utd will be well organised, make you work hard for everything and are a danger at set pieces.

I don't think Dunfermline did lie down. It would hardly be a surprise for Rangers to thrash them at home under normal circumstances. Did Kilmarnock lie down to Celtic on the same day?

Sutton was an excellent player but a total cock.

    We'll try.

The way we're playing we'll probably lose heavily, but we haven't beaten Celtic at home in about 5 years, so we are due.

    Rangers 2-0 Falkirk

Striker Boyd's goal against Falkirk was his 15th of the season

Rangers moved seven points clear at the top of the SPL with win over a well-organised Falkirk side at Ibrox.

The home side struggled to circumvent a solid Bairns side early on, as Scott Arfield came close with a sweet volley.

But Rangers striker Kris Boyd opened the scoring from a 22-yard free-kick midway through the first half.

And as Falkirk pressed in the final stages, substitute Steven Naismith wrapped up the win with a calm finish, after robbing Darren Barr of the ball.

Falkirk boss John Hughes watched on from the stand while serving a touchline ban.

And the Bairns manager had clearly learned from his sides crushing 7-2 defeat the last time he took his team to Ibrox, when they were punished for a swashbuckling attacking approach.

However, the 4-1-4-1 formation employed on this visit was well-organised and packed the midfield.

The effect was to frustrate Rangers who, despite some neat passing moves, were unable to fashion many clear-cut chances for much of the early stages.

Jean-Claude Darcheville did whip the ball in across the Falkirk goal on 14 minutes, but Gerard Aafjes was on hand to mop up for the Bairns with Kris Boyd lurking at the far post.

Instead it was the visitors who had the better efforts early in the game.

Scott Arfield, fresh from scoring for Scotland Under-21s in midweek, twice tried his luck from distance.

The first effort was scooped well over the bar from 12 yards, but with the second the midfielder showed excellent technique to chest the ball down before firing in a dipping volley that cleared Alan McGregor's top corner by inches.

Yet, it was Walter Smith's side that took the lead in the 23rd minute, and perhaps inevitably it was from a dead-ball situation, given the Bairns' success in stifling Rangers in open play.

Darcheville was fouled 22 yards from goal, and Kris Boyd, enjoying a rare start for the Light Blues, stepped up to drill the ball home low past Robert Olejnik.

The goal seemed to spur the home side on, and Darcheville took the ball for a run, rounding the Faikirk keeper Robert Olejnik, but the Austrian managed to get a finger-tip to the ball to touch it wide.

Bairns defender Tam Scobbie nearly pegged level when his flighted free-kick caught out the Rangers rear-guard before drifted just wide of McGregors goal.

But Falkirk had Olejnik to thank for going in at the break just the one goal down, when he saved a powerful Boyd volley from six yards.

Into the second half and Barry Ferguson just failed to finish off a wonderful flowing move involving Brahim Hemdani and Boyd, shooting wide from just four yards.

Falkirk manager Hughes substituted defender Kenny Milne for Russell Latapy, in a more attacking move.

And with Scobbie afforded more license down the right, the Bairns bagan to creep back into the match.

But in the final quarter, Rangers were twice denied a second goal within the space of 60 seconds.

Substitute Steven Naismith put Barry Fergsuon through on goal, but he could only chip over the bar under pressure from Olejnik.

Winger Chris Burke then watched a shot cleared off the line.

With minutes to go Patrick Cregg passed up a rare Falkirk chance to grab a share of the points, blasting over from 12 yards after skipping past two Rangers players.

But with the Bairns pressing as the match came to a close, Rangers secured then points thanks to Steven Naismith robbing Darren Barr and sliding cooly past Olejnik.

He's a very tough defender that can play leftback and centerback..tall and physically very strong..but too sloppy for my liking..i think the scottish league will suit him well though..he's an extremely physical player.

Looks like Gretna are all set to head back to the oblivion from whence they came-

Gretna players hit by pay delay

Gretna have assured the Scottish Premier League that they are working hard to resolve the non-payment of wages to staff, including players.

Club owner Brooks Mileson is seriously ill in a Newcastle hospital and he has been responsible for the payroll.

Gretna officials, including Mileson's son Craig and chief executive Graeme Muir, have been holding meetings to address the issue.

The players' union (PFA Scotland) is monitoring the situation.

Gretna's resources have been stretched this season as they have been paying for a groundshare with Motherwell at Fir Park.

During his five years in charge, Mileson, 59, has bankrolled Gretna as they have risen rapidly through the Scottish leagues to the top flight.

The Black & Whites' Raydale Park does not meet SPL standards and the club chose to share Fir Park rather than rebuild.

With Gretna only boasting a population of around 3,000 and fans facing a long round-trip to Lanarkshire, crowds have been poor.

A mere 342 turned up for the CIS Insurance Cup tie with Cowdenbeath, while 1092 made the trip to see Inverness visit on league duty in October.

Gretna, who lie nine points adrift at the foot of the SPL, aim to build a new eco-stadium near the town.

However, the plans are dependent on government backing and work is yet to start.

In January, Gretna lightened their wage bill by selling striker Colin McMenamin to Dundee and defender Danny Grainger to Dundee United.

The club also chose to release Martin Canning, James Grady, Tony Caig, Ryan McGuffie, David Graham, Allan Jenkins, David Cowan, Niall Henderson and Colin Scott.

Fraser McLaren, Erik Paartalu and David Bingham were sent out on loan, while a host of youngsters were brought in on temporary deals from English clubs

It is a sad fact that many Scottish clubs are in such a financial mess that their players don't get paid. Unfortunately Gretna are just one!
