tbh i am a bit surprised rover,i thought that weekly salaries were the norm at top-flight clubs.
i suppose teh weeks and months ahead will show if i was right to have faith but when the players, management and the SPFA head frazer wishart ALL say there was no real problem then i hope to god that there is no underlying problem with funds

Dons first home win of the season yesterday, and other results have gone our way, so we're back in the mix.

Think I'll head down to Tannadice, where they have lice the size of mice, next weekend.

as i said in the other thread i felt we were denied a stonewall penalty for handball, think we should have had another penalty for a foul on miko, celtic's second came from a handball from caldwell. the SFA's agenda against us continues!!

but that said we are playing some excellent football right up until the 18 yard box...where we have absolutely no ideas what to do next

@ andy-congrat on getting that home win, strange not to see pittodrie as a fortress, knowing your luck its the away form that will suffer now

No doubt.

Especially given that I go to Tannadice every other season, but I haven't seen us win there since Eoin Jess scored in the Scottish Cup Quarter Final in 2000.

No surprise at the refereeing calls against you guys. Ultimately I think it will be us against you guys for third place this time round. Hopefully resulting in more of this: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pZC6VGV8W_Q

tbh mate we have had these decisions against us for teh best part of a year, against you lot the other week Lee Miller was persistent in his fouling yet Miko gets booked for his first foul (yet again) though no surprises for guessing why

Unusual for Lee Miller to be persistently fouling. :D

Did you see Hibs winner against us a few weeks ago? Fletcher standing several yards offside because the keeper was out, but the linesman/McCurry didn't give it. Result was a penalty and a red card for Mulgrew.

Bastard of a Scottish Cup draw for you guys, Bozi.

Not to bad for Aberdeen, though we never seem to get home draws.

And I see that Hearts have been late paying wages again, another technical glitch?

there seems to be real confusion with this one, the wages were processed on friday yet didn't go through in time...... very strange

as for the scottish cup draw-we have a very good record against hibs in the scottish cup but what a week as we have them at tynecastle the week before in the league

Sounds like a big week.

I would be worried, if I was a Hearts fan, that Ukio Bankas will get into trouble and call in Hearts' debt.

there was only one newspaper that has seen fit to make a big deal out of it (again) and that is the Daily Ranger. last time it happened the Sun was offered the story, now the Sun has taken a lot of joy from bashing Hearts over teh last few years and they decided it was a non-story yet the Daily Ranger thought it worthy of a back-page splash. in their match report yesterday there was about 8 mentions of unpaid wages, nothing like it to deflect from Rangers poor performance

as for the UKIO bank thing i have said it before and i will say it again-Hearts are safe right now and i will tell you why-
Romanov is a big fish in a small pond over there, he is desperate to get UKIO set-up in a major financial district and Edinburgh is the ideal place for him to make an assault on the western european market. the problem is that until he does get UKIO a foothold in this market then he needs to keep his name in the public eye, hence Hearts will continue to be secure.
however once he gets a customer base with UKIO then i will start to worry, a successful Hearts is in his long-term business interests...right up until his bank is established

Romanov seems to be having trouble getting hold of a license to open a bank in the UK, so the whole opening of UKIO over here seems to be on hold.

My point is that if UKIO is hit hard by the credit crunch and Romanov has to choose between UKIO and Hearts, I would expect him to go with UKIO, which would seem to leave Hearts up shit creek.

the main problem is that for any bank to get accredited they need to get backing from another bank. the main problem is that now no banks are lending to each other and are all very suspicious of each other so getting that backing is proving problematic. the thing is that the government is now trying to encourage borrowing as a way to dig ourselves out of recession and this could be advantageous to romanov and his plans.
at the end of the day UKIO is his main objective and yes there is always the risk of him choosing his bank over the football club but, as i said before, romanov's only real objective is to get UKIO established here in Edinburgh and as long as he is ambitious then he will keep Hearts running.

plus there is the small matter of the 8m he just pumped in to get the debt down, plus the money from Gordon's sale and the reduction of wages....the financial future is nowhere near as grim as it has been portrayed
