the figures are not taht accurate, we ahve cut iur wage bill since we offloaded skacel, pressley, webster, gordon, hartley, bednar, pospisil, fyssas, pinilla, beslijia and goncalves plus our debt will come down with both the £9m from gordons sale and also the £8m that romanov has pumped in

but the debt is stil too high and we are no different to anyone else in that respect, though not much has been made of romanov pumping the cash in like david murray did when rangers were over £40m in debt

Aberdeen paid off some debt on the back of last season's European run.

Looking again, those figures are almost two years out of date. Almost the whole league has been cutting back in that time.

He's a very sensible guy, as folk who make millions from nothing tend to be.

I get bored of hearing Aberdeen fans demanding that he pour his personal wealth into the club.

For one thing, he isn't even the majority shareholder: Aberdeen Asset Management are.

And he also guaranteed our debt to the banks, which is why we were able to operate with a debt as high as £12m for several years without getting too much hassle from the banks.

aye but folk look at david murray and think pouring millions into a football club is the way forward

Who's saying that and is the player any good?

We haven't been linked with him, as far as I am aware. All scouting missions I have been aware of have been in Holland or the Premership Reserves League.

I'm also not aware of us having a particularly strong scouting network in Ireland, only in Northern Ireland through Jimmy Nichol's contacts.

He's decent, he improved a lot in the last year. His overall play is good but he still doesn't score enough for a striker. I was surprised when I heard him linked to a team outside of Ireland as there are much better players than him in this league.

I heard it from 2 people who heard it from someone who has connections in the club.

To be honest, I'd say it's very unlikely but you never know.

It's entirely possible that we are watching him, though it probably is unlikely we will sign him.

We already have four forwards for the two spots and two wingers who can play there too.

;)

The creditors seem to be lining up and Hearts seem to be trying to defer all of them to January when they will raise cash by selling players.

Suggests there are some major cash flow problems (Hearts have no money).

Aberdeen have also refused to send Hearts any tickets for the game between Xmas and New Year, so it's just pay at the gate. It seems Aberdeen have no faith in Hearts paying for the allocation.

There was at least some good news for Ukio Bankas yesterday, though, after posting £21.8 million profits in their latest results.

For the first 11 months of 2008, the Lithuanian company's gains have improved by 21.3 per cent during the same trading period last year. In October, the bank enjoyed nine-month profits of £20million, an increase of 36 per cent on 2007.

Ukio Bankas is also celebrating being named Fastest Growing Company of the Year in an awards ceremony organised by the Lithuanian Business Employers' Confederation.

But will any of that cash find it's way to Hearts?

If UKIO is doing okay, then there is little chance of Hearts going bust, but the level of debt and the wages compared to income still look pretty daunting to me.

hearts are still more secure than romanov's other football interests and when hearts publish their next set of figures then there will be a huge reduction in debt, a massive reduction in the wage bill and (unfortunately) some of our high profile big earners being sold in january.

the books will look much better than those published above that are very outdated!

anyway what a good performance from hearts today, tbh i am really disappointed as we really should have won this game today...still 4 points out of 6 against the ugly sisters is not too shabby
