Russia used to get sanctions in the past and back then they were dependent on the import. When that happened they largely focus on the production and even began exporting on chunks. So yeah, I don't think majority of sanctions would hurt them (but I'm not saying people won't notice it) while I can't say it won't hurt Europe if they get no gas or if/when gas prices hit 2000 euros or more.

Some of the sanctions might not hurt them on the surface, but their currency is getting demolished, so that will absolutely hurt their citizens. The oligarchs are probably hedged and knew this was coming. I still think the biggest story apart from gas prices are going to be food prices worldwide, as Ukraine and Russia produce nearly 25% of the world's wheat.
