    Great list

Getting a lot of play with the hip teens around here, my niece is well into these. Listened to a bit last night. Sounds like we have a neo-neo-psychedelic era approaching.
Where you been? It's been here for at least 5 years now :D Tame Impala, Temples, Pond, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Black Angels, Melody's Echo Chamber, etc...

And yes, the hip kids love it. And i have to admit i enjoy it as well. Hell, in a hip-hop/pop shit dominated music world, sure, i'll take a little hipness rock if that's all there is left.

I'm not trendy at all, I've just known Tame Impala and The Black Angels for a couple of years or so.

I'm pulling your leg :D but yeah, those bands have been around for a while. And i'm far from trendy but it's nice to have kids experimenting with sounds and effects and not really following the pop rule of verse-chorus-verse again. It's of course not as original as they're just ripping off stuff from the past but at least i can appreciate the effort.

    @CrimsonianKing

This reminds me so much of a song from the 60s/early 70s. And it's really annoying me that I can't think of what song it is... Help!

PS. Doesn't she sound like Grace Slick. :D

more like 'folk pop blues' than folk rock

don't be an ass, there is nothing 'rock' about that at all.
There are certainly similarities to many "folk rock" songs, and even more so in the rest of the band's oeuvre (psychedelic + folk rock).

If you don't like the song, don't listen to it. Don't comment on it. And don't call me an "ass" for seeing folk rock in a song that would certainly have been classified as such in that era, along with many other similar songs.

If you want a thread dedicated to your narrow-minded and myopic view of rock music, I suggest you make one.

The rest of the album. Yes. Not rock (psychedelic+folk) music at all.

You need a little learning on 60's rock, yes, rock. Btw it's a bluesy melody.

Don't know, sounds like a lot of stuff from the 60's. From The Byrds to Small Faces...

Not really :D It's cool though.

Check out the rest of the album. They have a pretty cool Psychedelic sound (yes, bluesy at times too. A Delta blues kind of undercurrent). Love the integration of the flute :D 'tis one of the better new albums I've come across the past couple years. I just picked up their second (and apparently last) album, that was just released. Haven't given it a listen yet though.

Seattle has always had a pretty good music scene.

    Seattle is awesome.

A haunting song with a flute? No problem.

Or don't post non-rock songs in rock thread, go create your own folk thread for that kind of stuff

We all have a different idea of where the boundaries of rock extend to... Pretty much every review of this band calls them a psychedelic rock band with blues and folk undercurrents + middle eastern influence. So you are disagreeing with, well, almost everyone's interpretation of this band.

But, if you don't like my interpretation of that boundary, ignore the songs I post. Simple...

...or listen to them, get all annoyed that they don't fit your particular definition, and call me an "ass". That works too.
