I was really psyched about the Pereyra signing in the summer. Same with Morata. About 2 months into the season I was far less psyched, but he just needed time to settle into the squad. He's been immense for the last 6 weeks. Brilliant signings, him and Morata.
Where I was wrong to cringeworthy and epic levels was with Iturbe. I really was disappointed we didn't get him. Now, I'm singing Hallelujah

Lol settle down, Pereyra has had a good run of games, but that's all it is, as an all around utility midfielder when we have many absences. Still way off required effectivity level required for an AM, nor shown performances that screams 17m worthy (needs to actually execute plays more instead of almost do enough but fall short). But allround decent squad player to have that's improving the more he gets settled.

In the away (and home) games against Dortmund he certainly looked like a 17M player. Not to mention a few others games he's played for us where he has shown some great dribbling, good runs/movement off the ball and decent vision. And how hasn't he shown enough so far? 2 goals and 4 assists, playing as a sub for our midfielders in his debut season isn't bad at all imo. Could have had more assists to his name if not for some shoddy finishing from our strikers in certain games.
I actually think our counter-attacking, which was non-existent before this season, has improved massively since the arrival of Bobby P (and Morata of course) there isn't many players on our team currently who can dribble, and take on/run at players at pace like him.
He obviously still needs to work on his finishing/goal scoring facets of the game, but he clearly has much more room for improvement as well.

I like him to do well for sure and agree he has improved, but NOT enough, especially not enough to be smug about it. 2 of his goals was within a week 2 months ago, both vs Verona. For an AM 3-4 assists for someone who has played this much isn't enough. Especially in a team that lacks creativity. He has encouraging runs often, and yes very useful for counters, but he falters with the final decision too regularly for my liking (see several frustrating moments of not executing final pass or acting in time etc) . Excellent for squad rotation option, but not for starter. Especially as AM, prefer him more as all around CM, doesn't showcase his limitations as much.
