lol, i am the clueless one ? there is only one player that bayern paid more for and that is javi martinez. they paid us exactly the same amount as they paid bvb for fricking goetze. bayern will not pay more, because they don't obey the retard rules of EPLs overspending which all you guys want us to follow. i will just fathom the guess that our board did know enough about vidals problems and health condition (especially regarding his knee) that they thought it was a sound move to sell him for that much,
40mil = overspending Hey Marty, you're way too early. Your time machine from 1985 is supposed to arrive in October.

I have this weird feeling that if we bought Hernanes 2 weeks ago and Sandro yesterday the general rating of our mercato would go up by 2.
This is so true.

6/10 for me. I would rate it higher, but selling Vidal and what happened after still has me baffled, I cannot rate it any higher. Rugani and Sandro for our defense are excellent signings and we got rid of some unwanted players. I really like Dybala and Mandzukic will come good as well, so I think we basically did all we could to cover for Tevez leaving.

Midfield is more complicated to rate for me, as it's been a somewhat random collection of players coming in. I like Khedira, but I don't know anything about Lemina. Cuadrado, although a good impact player, doesn't really fit our set up, though maybe he could play behind a striker together with Dybala, 4321? Hernanes is, or atleast used to be, a good player who might just do well and give us a very technically gifted player to connect our midfield to our strikers until we manage to sign a long term solution, but he's somewhat of an unknown as well going on his Inter form.

There are a lot of ifs and buts here, and it could very well turn out much better than we expect, especially if these younger players step up and fulfill their potential, but (see!) as it stands now our starting 11 hasn't been instantly improved.

The thing is... it was always going to be near impossible to upgrade the players we lost.

(dont mention that we spent 40m on mandzukic and zaza)
But two players are better than one. Haven't you heard that football matches will be played 15v15 from next year on? Beppe got the insider informaton from Platini. Khedira, Hernanes and Lemina ate also better than Vidal. Versatility yo.

May Igor wouldn't have this sort of meltdown.Transfer mercato is done. You need to navigate yourself to May Igor again.

But you gave me the permission to meltdown on Sep 1st. May Igor loved Beppe, he loved and admired him into the middle of August until it became clear that behind those questionable decisions of mid July there was no cunning masterplan. At work now so enjoy 8 meltdown free hours

I am because i think we have a challenge on our hands this year in really excited. The last 3 years have been boring.
You can't win on this forum

The past 3 seasons most people on here and whinging and bitching that Serie A is too easy, we are way too dominant, and it "didnt help us when we play in Europe" :)lol:) ...now when we are a bit weaker (on paper) this season and the chasing pack behind us have somewhat strengthened, everything is doom and gloom and the whole season is a failure. Fickle fans.

Yes I told people not to panic but now that the mercato is done ,it's pretty much a waste of energy having a meltdown of this magnitude. It applies to many here but we still bought in quality.I'd like people to be more enthusiastic now and look forward to watch this new look team and hope that they deliver.
As said above our signings should be judged on the pitch ultimately.

So I suggest September Igor postpone his rage induced meltdown to atleast up until the 1st half if things go really bad that is.(which I doubt ofcourse)

6,5 for me.
+We finally got that starter Lb!!
+The acquisitions we made have the talent to stay and build a strong core that will last for many years.
+We offload Ogbonna and got Rugani back, we have systematically overlooking our defense for a long while now and this was finally settled!
+we still rock at freebies, Khedira and Neto for free are great business.
+We dont pay special tribute on the Italian nationalistic pride anymore, we select targets rated purely by their skills!
+This was a very demanding transfer window, searching and getting targets from the begining to the last day of mercato.
-We still overpay though. And mostly still suck at selling our players on good prices. (free Pirlo and Llorente, nearly free Giovinco and Tevez, low price on Vidal)
-We are still getting owned at managing loans CO owns and young player contracts. We gave away Immobile for nothing and wasted 20mil on Zaza, a player we owned, so that we can have an option to throw even more on Berardi, another player we owned?! WTF? In the meantime we let Bayern try out Coman for 2 years.
-We still opt for quantity over quality...We have sold Vidal got Lemina to his defensive eork and gernanes his build up role and Pereyra his dribblin and shooting work, like we can field 13 players instead of 11.
-We are still carried away by opportunity targets, instead of having a meticulously crafted transfer plan, with plenty of alternatives and long term targets.

I'd rate it a 7/10 mercato.

Minus points for Vidal, no AM and giving Llorente away for free.

Coman showed nothing for us, so I'm not too bothered.

Dybala is already showing his class, Khedira once fit will provide us with stability and furthermore Sandro will be a stud.

7/10 for me

Dybala, Cuadrado, Rugani, Neto, Alex Sandro and Lemina all excellent signings. Hernanes might be a very positive surprise, of the Serie A active players he has the second highest scoring record (40).

Manduczik should guarantee 20 goals in the season but didnt start off very well missing an easy chance in both our first two games.
Zaza is a complete mistery, I mean we could have done with a Berardi and kept Llorente.
The fact we tried to sell him until the last minute is a bad message.
Khedira: if he will play at least 15 games I will be happy but I have serious concerns about his fitness.
Coman could become a great player but he has not shown any character whenever given the opportunity. Talent is not enough if you lack "balls" and the lad always looked like a frightened chicken. At 30 millions might have been a solid bargain. Excellent getting rid off Ogbonna, Isla, PDC, all players of low standards.
Finally, Pirlo-Tevez-Vidal.
We certainly owe these guys a lot for the last few years but Vidal HAD to go and Tevez WANTED to go. Pirlo was becoming a liability, someone posted the stats from last season showing that with him on the pitch we conceded more than twice the goals conceded with him on the pitch and we scored substantially more goals. And yes, he did have a few genius plays but all in all he was being outpaced by the most humble players.
And these three guys all played a horrendous final in Berlin; considering they all knew it was their last game with Juve, I would have expected a bit more.
That's all folks.

They bought Kondogbia for 40m
Got me there
Wow, surprised to see so many Dybala doubters. The kid is super talented. I can't imagine it not working out unless injuries happen, or perhaps if he is forced to play as a winger.
I don't doubt his potential, but 32+8 bonus is, for me, too much for a kid who didn't show anything outside SerieA and who had a 1 year contract.

8/10.

Dybala is a monster signing. I buy into the talk of him being the/or one of the next great Argentine footballers.

Alex Sandro was expensive. Jordan Amavi could've been signed for €12m. I don't think Sandro is better TBH. But Sandro if he turns out great I don't care how much we spend. Not a player I've watched a lot.

Cuadrado on loan is incredible. A former star of the league joining for next to nothing!

Lemina is interesting as well. Especially because he might be able to play RWB instead of Lichtsteiner.

Hernanes... If he can recover his Lazio form he's a top class signing. Is he left or right footed? None knows. Very talented player, given other circumstances, he could've had a whole different career. Pirlo-esque signing IMO.

Mandzukic is a proven top poacher. He struggles without creativity around him, but with great support, he can score the decisive goals.

Be interesting to know people's vote's on last years market which arguably was worse than this year... Our standout signing was Pereyra and Morata last year.
