Of course, the coach is a very important factor. And as you have mentioned with the previous Chelsea example, he can really make the difference, under some certain circumstances!
But the coach alone, will not deliver any miracles. I see our team as a team that plays with a handicap, due to the fact that we are forced to field 4 very limited players (Molinaro, Grygera, Mellberg/Legro, Marchionni) out of ten.
40% of our field players/starters, are not competitive enough, to compete with the best, or even to make the difference against lesser opposition.
CR or any other coach would try anything to minimize the damage, those incompetent players inflict to our team.
But some times it simply wont be enough.
If the other 60% does not perform at optimal levels to compensate, no matter what CR tries, it wont be enough!
This faulty percentage is a burden inherited by our management.
Although they had the available funds to fix those issues, they preferred some luxury subs. I have reasons to believe that this is not CR's fault.
CR has done some great mistakes and i want him out since the day he was announced.
But if we dont fix those issues, we cannot demand any better results!
There is no coach out there who can deliver much better results with this 40% handicap.
Since the main problem lies elsewhere, i wouldnt want CR to considered as the ultimate scapegoat, only to divert attention from our real problem!
IMO changing our board is a greater priority.
Changing our coach with the same board is a half-measure.
A new coach could do just a bit better, but he could also do a lot worse,
esp if he is an inexperienced pawn, like Conte.
The new coach would bring new hope, but a false hope, since we know this faulty policy of the current will continue and no matter what this new coach does,
they will amputate our team.
