It's too early to judge Union but it seems that getting rid of Ronaldo and building a proper structure to their team was the best thing they could've done at this point
If Union have a good season or two and given the resources they have, you can expect them to be back among the elite in the next 3-4 yrs

I agree that Zidane won't come without any transfer guarantees but that would apply to any top coach but then we need to bet on somebody unproven which may or may not work .Even spaletti and pioli few years back were considered not worthy enough of becoming next juve coach.

We will have to take a risk at some point. It's pretty clear that our 'safe' option doesn't appear to be safe anymore and there are no signs of progress
10 years of spending lots on players and coaches, it was inevitable at some point. Very embarrassing really it has taken them so long to be competitive, they have been appallingly-ran.
