You're probably trying too hard. A lot of people think they can't pronounce a certain sound because they have a letter hardwired to a sound. Like Americans can't pronounce a rolling r, in theory. Then you explain how they do it all day long when they say the word "butter", the double T there is a text book rolling r. But it's not written as an R so they can't make the connection.

I'm not so sure of that. I'm finding French somewhat harder than Italian, yes, but not by that much.

french has complex rules, nightmarish pronunciation, and a VERY difficult interlocutor/audience. And i really doubt your french will be as good as your italian

My Italian has almost 4x the time put into it. And it was less strong than my French at this stage (obviously that's because of the network effects).

There are a lot of challenging things in French but let's not make it out to be something superhuman. I think you inflate the difficulty because your standards are high. If you'd care as much about good German you'd probably think that's way harder than you currently do.
