Mexes can play deeper. The reason why he could be a good partner for Chiellini is because he isn't poor with the ball -- he doesn't needlessly blast it up pitch like our other defenders over the years. I would like to have someone intelligent with the ball at the back, which is why I wanted Marquez here a few years ago, but it's too late for him.
A couple of years ago, Marquez or Carvalho would have been great partners for Chiellini.

I've no doubt Mexes would improve Juve's play when in possession, but I do have my concerns about his ability to make a solid partnership for with Chiellini.

Bonucci could either turn out to be a fantastic defender for us or a very poor one, personally I'd take the risk and have him starting for us.

But then again, which CB is a realistic catch?
Mexes might succeed, might not, Gallas too expensive, Marquez and Carvalho over the top.

Maybe we can try to get Juhasz, he has been performing good and consistent for Anderlecht the last 3 seasons, but if he is able to make the step forward and succeed at Juve, I don't know.

if only we got vermaelen before arsenal did..hes a tidy defender who is calm and can score also..
i really dont know if there are available defenders who might be available with a good price..ohh pique partnering chiellini, what a dream!!that would be close to the nesta-canna partnership..

Even if, for arguments sake, I agree that Chiellini isn't too aggressive, that doesn't solve the problem.

The best CB pairings have one CB who wants to move forward and attack the ball, and one player who wants to drop off and act as sweeper.

Both Chiellini and Mexes want to go forward attack the ball, which can lead to imbalance.

And 99% of the time, the guys who are good at organising and controlling a back line are the sweeper types because it is easier to see the pitch properly from there.

If you have two really great defenders who are similar, they will find a way to work together, but I don't consider either Chiellini or Mexes to be particularly intelligent footballers.
I think we only really saw Chiellini do that often this season because of the general lack of movement of the team in attack. He burst forward at times to add an extra number but I don't think it's really in his nature.

This duo can be similar to a Samuel-Lucio duo. Neither of them are particularly clever or classy but they get the job done.

Lucio is an idiot who races forward to attack the ball.

Samuel is intelligent enough to adapt his game to cover for the other CB.

Juhasz is indeed a consistent player. Nothing fancy, but he gets the job done. Frankly, I'm surprised he's still playing in the Belgian league, I think he could do a lot better. And the Italian league may just suit him really well.

It's not holes, I just say so people don't get excited.

Because they do want Luisao. Other than that it's pretty much a wild guess, you know I love you.
No worries, I'm not planning on getting excited at the prospect of signing Philippe.
