Gianluca Pessotto has today officially resumed his role as Juventus team manager, the club have confirmed.
The former defender is back after he spent the last five months recovering from his serious injuries following his failed suicide attempt.
The 36-year-old has now been passed fit to return to his beloved Bianconeri and the club have welcomed him back with open arms.
“Let us say that our party started when he came to see us in a surprise visit while he was still at the Clinica Fornaca,” stated President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.
“From that moment Gianluca was one of us again. He then started to travel to away games and follow the team.
“He’s had some tough months recently and we stayed close to him. I saw him yesterday and he is in the best possible shape possible.
“I am sure that it will be helpful for everyone that he has close contact with the players, he will help them.”
The former Italian international, capped 22 times by the Azzurri, joined Juventus in 1995 from city rivals Torino.
The Udine-born professional also enjoyed spells at Milan, Varese, Massese, Bologna and Verona before hanging up his boots at the end of last season.

ROME (Reuters) - Former Italy and Juventus defender Gianluca Pessotto has denied his fall last year from a top floor window at the club's Turin headquarters was a suicide attempt.
The 36-year-old Juve team manager, who won six Serie A titles and the 1996 Champions League in 11 years with the club, suffered multiple fractures and internal bleeding after falling 15 metres from a fourth-floor window in June.
Reports shortly after he fell suggested he was receiving treatment for depression following the end of his playing career, and that he had been found with a rosary in his hands.
"I believe it was an accident. But we should not be afraid to speak out and express clearly whatever it is that we feel," Pessotto said on television show Quelli che.il calcio on Sunday.
"If someone is sad, it is right that he says so. If someone is depressed, it is right that he says so."
Pessotto said making the transition from player to official had been one of the toughest periods of his life.
"When you stop playing you realise what you had, but it is hard to find a way forward and start a new life.
"Now, however, I've got a great desire to get down to work. I hope I can contribute to make the world of football in which I grew up a better place".
