A solid defense is beautiful but Catenaccio is fucking horrible. It’s an outdated system and really has no place in modern football, nobody uses it anymore.

And why’s people thinking that if we apply an attacking formula we’ll suddenly suck at defending? That’s not how it works.
And why are people thinking that if we apply a defensive formula, we’ll suck at attacking? We didn’t suck at attacking in any of Allegri’s first 3 years here. We didn’t suck at attacking under Lippi either, while having more defensive tactics than Allegri’s.
No one is saying we have to play pure catenaccio, nor have we under Allegri, or Lippi, or Trap before that. Using elements of catenaccio doesn’t mean you have to be shit at attacking lol. Or that you can’t have balance between defence and attack.
But sure, follow the silly modern perception that all teams that focus on solid tactics at the back and build from there, can’t be successful lol

This split into defensive and attacking teams is retarded anyways. There is no team that wins trophies consistently that doesn't know how to attack and defend well. It's about how you balance those two and I'd certainly categorize the dominant Real and Bayern teams quite balanced instead of some attacking juggernauts. It's quite clear to everyone that you'll struggle to win shit if you don't attack well. That doesn't mean you need to play like Pep's Barca.
It’s also pretty obvious that the Allegri teams of year 1-3 here were very well balanced between defence and attack.
But because we lost in those two CL finals we now get revisionist nonsense about how we played cowardly defensive football under him even in those years.
