Do you notice he gets in to the box to head constantly? It's really odd role he has with them.

Ya, Mourinho probably wants him to do that because he's big :D

Now that they are playing Herrera and Carrick with him, I don't understand why they can't play him in his more favored CM position alongside Herrera with Carrick behind them as the DM. That way all three of them will be playing in their favored positions.

Better than usual but still kept jogging around instead of playing football. He looked kinda disinterested at times. He's not the Pogba we've had at Juve.
yeah, saw them twice this season vs Chelsea and Feyenoord and noticed that. seems to me he doesent give a shit for some reason, a fight with Mourinho maybe? or just waiting to leave that shitplace and go to Real

ive been saying this since summer. this is the closest United can get to the same type of midfield Juve had (maybe Schneiderlin as the deepest mid instead of Carrick if he cant keep playing so many games, but no idea how good the french is) and getting the best out of Pogba (if hes even willing to actually give a fuck). id also stop playing with wingers because they dont have good ones and use Mata/Mkhitaryan behind Ibra-Rooney or Ibra-Rashford or Ibra-Martial (no idea what their best duo would be). such setup would suit the team selection they have much more and would get all their best players in their best roles.

Okish. Definitely not the Pogba we know though.
To be fair to Pogba, it was one of his best performances so far this season. Having Carrick to clean up behind him and give some composure and intelligence to their midfield really helps Pogba. It's the same thing as the Marchisio effect last season here at Juve with Pogba.

There was an article in the Guardian on his importance to them, and it had this bit of very telling information:

But the issue, really, is not what United might have done, it is how important Carrick remains to them. In 2014-15, United picked up 2.44 points per league game Carrick started, as opposed to 1.41 when he did not. Last season United got 1.91 points per league game he started – 1.50 when he did not. This season Carrick has started five games in all competitions. United have won them all.

Funny though, that the two most important players to them having a successful season, Zlatan and Carrick, are both 35 years old.

There's certainly some humor in United spending 210 million euro on CMs the past three years and ending up with a 35 year old Carrick as their best midfielder.

It is interesting though how Manure's shareholders react to all those monies flushed down the toilet. I understand the club is wealthy and earns a lot either way but those monies could benefit the club further if spent wisely.
Pretty sure they went into the deal with dollar signs in their eyes considering the shirt sales, ads, added publicity and whatnot. Pogba is on a similar level as Neymar in terms of marketability and I'm sure they're gonna get that 100m back one way on another. If they regain it on the pitch however is a completely different matter LOL.

Its actually quite revealing the major issue with the big paycheck league.

Any team needs high quality supportive players to make the team work. But the problem is, the EPL is full of cash and hookers. So you got all this cash, and offcourse you spend in on flair and fancy.

However, what if there isnt a big name supportive player ?

Smart clubs wont care and get whatever player is best for the team.

EPL doesnt work like that. They'll just play without supportive players and put some fancy star there. Which doesnt work.

Look at Chelsea. Oh, mate, dat front 3 mate. Yeah, dat front 3. And all of that works because the central midfield is hardcore support.
