I personally always thought Luiz could suit the central position in the back three. He is an awkward player - not good enough defensively for a back two, but not intelligent enough with the ball to play as a CDM. That central role in a back three is meant for him. What Chelsea don't need is Bonucci - that would be redundant, and it is obvious that Luiz was the alternative to Bonucci. I personally don't think Luiz on Chelsea in a back three will struggle much, as long as the other two central defenders do their job. He will never be as good as Bonucci, but he can fill the need in that formation.

I mistook Bailly for Smalling.
Smalling was great last or two season ago, now he`s making blunders;) But Bailly played well for Villareal, i`ve read got motm performance once against Barcelona and for MU is one who does not dissapoint this season in defence, now injured;p

But i think many players for mu are great but no chemistry, ego, lack of passion, parties etc are big problem

Ya agreed. It gives him freedom so that his retardation can only be a positive. Sometimes it's the same thing with Bonucci. He can shoot out of the defense into midfield and if he doesn't win the ball, the other 2 CBs just tuck inside and it's like a normal back 4 alignment. But if he wins the ball, he can do something with it.

And in defense, he doesn't have to mark, just use his athleticism to win loose balls over the top or in front of the other CBs.

We don't need mercs like him. Don't care for losing him one bit especially after some of his commentss, but I do care for not investing that money into a top midfielder. For the 2nd season in a row we haven't adressed our needs properly.

Are you serious? With everything we know about this deal, you should despise him. You gotta accept the fact that we'll never be as attractive as Bayern, Real and Barca and as economic attractive as the English teams as long as we play in Serie A. If we see a new format without us playing in a national league - then probobly. But football will lose it soul.

They're just a well driven club (like we were back in the Moggi days). And the German league is way more professionel than the Italian. And the country has a much better economy.

And I really don't think highly of Real. They got lucky with an EL route to the final last year.

But they are still every players dream. Only Barca came close recently.

I agree about Bayern for now, but I believe we will catch up, and so will Serie A.. maybe.

He's also been playing in Germany before, maybe he got infatuated with Bayern back then for some reason.

And I mean they are a massive club, historically probably even a bit bigger than Barca and on the same level as us and Real.
