Today, the 3-4 best faggets from the top competitions get to compete. And its all money cash ho's, so its automatically the big thing.
Before the reformations in the late 80ties, the "europa cup I" was the champion only. Which basically meant, you were playing against shitty the fuck and usually had 1 or 2 actual big games.
HOWEVER, Uefa Cup had several teams that finished below. It didnt had "the top dog", but it was alot more competitive teams.
then there was the europacup II. Which had the cup winners iirc. Which usually was the biggest team that didnt win the title so tried to win the cup instead.
Today, all the big teams are in the CL. All national champions are mostly into the qualification rounds and eliminated there by higher seeded top competition late entry's
Juventus has been statistically called the second best team of the 20th century behind Madrid. And historywise, Liverpool shits all over united

We sold him weeks ago maybe even mid season. And it was well known to insiders that we did. That is why knobs like Richard Keys were so smug about it. We agreed to shut up about it with Adidas. So they can go for their media blitz. That is why you had all these media sources calling it every week. It was fact for them, they were just guesstimating when Man U will make it official.

Update: and that is also why it was so easy for Marotta to throw 32M so uncharacteristically at Pjanic so early in the mercato. Same for Higuain and Pjaca. It was a Zidane sale all along.
