Now Zidane is possibly one of the 10 best players of all time.

To compare any youngster to him is bullshit.

But when a guy is 21 yrs old and already one of the very best at his position - I do think Pogba can become one of the best ever at the CM position. Very unlikely he'll be a top 10 all time, like with every other young player in the world. But in the same way you can't say he'll be so good, you just can't write him off.

Players explode at different ages, that doesen't meen that a player who is a worldstar at age 20 has as much improvement left as a player at 20 who hasen't peaked yet. Look at Fabregas he was great in Arsenal at 16-17 year old, with that logic he would become better then Zidane, but that's not how it works.

Players develop at different ages, I had a friend who scored about 10 goals every game when he was a kid, later al the other kids developed and became as good. Where was Nedved at age 21? Wasen't he a bench player for Sparta Prag.

Pogba can become better ofcourse, but how much? He can develop his mental game, and decisions yes. Still a 21 year nobody ( right now) can become better) Just look at Nedved

Exactly. His only downfalls where the juve finals.... but in the very most important moment of his career.... Zidane delivered with greatness.

Thats the mark of a top player. ANd like some said... he had all the pressure on the wolrd in every single top tier enncounter...and he managed to deliver in the most difficult situations..guiding his team to glory.

Even an old and decrepit zizou...managed to toy on his own against the spanish NT in a WC and carry his team to the finals.

Even in madrid he sealed the CL cup with a ubertastic goal in the heat of the game. That moment alone would have been the highlight of any player´s career... but he also had an euro and a WC final superb games under his belt.


That is the trademark of top of he top player. You cant ask more than that.

If pogba is going to emulate it (which im pretty sure he will not) he has a long , loooong way to go. And when i say that he will not..is not because of lack of talent.. but because you also need to a lot of things fall in place to have that kind of career. He has the potential tho...and still have some good 10 years of career in the top of his game...so lest wait and judge what he can do.

OK i agree with you about Pogba being nowhere near Zidane (never will be), but this is not true. he is already one of the best players in his position at 21, he deserves the hype. also, weak league? last time i checked it is the 4th strongest league in the world. and he has done much more than a few moments of brilliance and some good performances. he is such a joy to watch this season, so dominant. these comparations with Zidane need to stop, but give the guy some credit for what he is doing.

i know about Robinho. actually, at one point when he was still in Real he had a run of good performances in his last season there and i thought he could finally make that final step. but hes an idiot, and after he went to City he only stagnated. Pogba is different. he is not an idiot. he knows what he is, he knows what he is capable of, and he knows how much he still has to work to reach his goal - becoming the best player in the world. talent is important, but without the right mentality that means nothing. i think Pogba has that

hes our 2nd best player this season after Tevez. he has been bossing the entire season (besides a few average games).

and i cant wait to see how he handles the CL KO stages for the 1st time in his career and see if he can carry a team already...
