Probably the best under 20 player in our team for years. He played like a mature, experienced player. We will have lots of good from Pogba. And for free too.
That's precisely what he did.

One thing that I haven't seen anyone comment on:

He wins 9/10 of his aerial duels. Chievo were unable to start attacks with the goal kicks they had. The balls were either won or knocked out to throw ins, really disturbed their rythm.
Absolutely. He won a lot of duels, both in the air and on the ground. He seems a nightmare to play against.

But I also agree with @JuveJay : it's his passing that is his biggest strength.

But the fact that he has other strengths too, is awesome.

Not a bad game. Was far from great though.
He doesn't make himself available for the ball. Also should try to play more difficult passes.

he needs to be smarter with his moves on the pitch, but he will learn that by getting more experience.

Said it first in the live thread ;)

I kept eye on him the entire game even when not at the ball. he was winning so many air duels from goal kicks, won duels in 1v1. got the ball back with a sprint to the sideline once, recovering from 5 meters behind. also once won a very nice duel in the middle where he very effectively fended off the ball.

that down headed pass over 10 meters in quags feet was nice, that attempted driven pass to isla i think was also very nice.

he doesnt pass like pirlo, who puts move upward curve in the ball, pogba tends to give driven balls, like the best passers in spain tend to do (big plus)

tactically very good game, you can see this is a very intelligent player.

I havent seen a midfield youngster at juventus, with so many potential, mightly impressed

More Viera than Pirlo. But his most admirable quality apart from his intelligent passing, has to be the elegance with which he wins the ball.

if conte likes him so much why didn't he play vs parma or udinese
You dont understand why italian managers who have a tendency to favor expirienced, established players and quality over unfinished potential ?
and in this specific case also tends to be the very center of the team?

Seriously, the fact that he could start and play 90 minutes in the 4th league game, tells so very much about how much conte believes in this player

Love that he keep it simple and don't try to overdo things, he clearly confident in his game, i'd like him to be more creative with his passes tough cos clearly he has the range and the vision.

Promising performance nontheless.

He is just 19, so eevry minute he gets is a very big win for him.

He still needs to develop his game and find what his real strength is... but he definitely has the composure to get more minutes this season.

He wasn't involved much but it wasn't his fault, he played as a DM and didn't get many passes from other players.

Can't wait to see him organizing the play and maybe some of his monster shots from distance.

With a talented giant like Pogby who needs that midget Verratti?
Veratti is very good. Both are different players, Veratti would come into the squad and replace Pirlo like for like. Where as Pogba is more physical, with less technique and passing ability. I would like to have both.

Really liked his game today, huge potential.
