Never mind passing ability, I do like it when a team has a big CM who wins lots of headers from opposition goal-kicks.

Allows you to dominate the game even more, and you don't even have to disturb your defence and bring a CB forward like you normally would to win those headers.

With a talented giant like Pogby who needs that midget Verratti?
Totally different type of players , they play in the same role , but their interpretation of the role is different , verratti's is much more closer to pirlo's interpretation , his skills in playmaking are much higher than pogba , on the other hand pogba has more defensive capabilities .
Well if he get's really better i wouldn't really mind sending him to psg in an exchange with verratti plus money . Verratti has singed a 3 year deal with psg , on the other hand if i am not mistaken pogba has a 5 year deal with us , so after 2 year we make an exchange verratti + 15 mil for pogba :D

We'll probably see a lot of him this year.

Kinda miss Marrone
Yeah would really like to see him playing , they both have played little with us , but until now pogba has shown more defensive capabilities , marrone for me has more skills in playmaking

I don't agree that they're totally different, Pogba's skills on the ball are pretty high too,He can dictate the tempo of the game and make crucial passes pretty well (if allowed), he was just a bit lost last night on that respect. He was much better in our preseason against JuveB.
Add his other abilities (physique, interceptions etc,) and to me he's more complete.

pogba can deliver killer balls just needs the order to do so and looks like they wanted him to play it safe until he gets used to matches like this this then he can try his skills of long balls cause this guy to me.. is like unpolished diamond ones it's polished it will be priceless this guy potential is hell scary just give him play time and he will be the best.

That's cool and all, but that's like 5% of a midfielders game, and really not worth mentioning.

it did seem to me like he was instructed to drop back/play more defensively, which is fine, did what he needed to do. agree about his headers, and passed the ball well.
I got the same impression. He played more of a holding MF role. But he did it well -- showed some good short-range passing with his teammates, did head the ball well defensively and to win loose balls. Solid performance.

The guy is awesome. he's just 19 years old and plays very smart he's very calm. We have Pirlo that's used the most by Conte and as replacement we have Pogba and Marrone. I don't see a room for Verratti here even though I wanted him to come here.

Pogba was a bit shy but I guess he had to play like this to get understanding of his position. He did all he had to, he was good in the air and intercepted a lot of balls. He's passing is decent too.

It's a shame Marrone didn't get his chance, but I guess 3 registas is luxury. Conte should really make him Bonucci's replacement and if needed play him in midfield.

He played well, obviously not playing pirlo esque balls but still appeared to be have more playmaking skills than Vidal and marchisio.

Loved his cheeky nutmeg and the goal kick headers allowed the defence to keep their shape, which in my opinion is subtly very important.

Superstar in the making.

I don't see him as the Pirlo-type of player. I prefer him to develop into a box-to-box one. I see a lot of Yaya in him.

1/15.

yea it really seemed he was playing to instructions and there's nothing wrong with that...he's new to the system and serie a and first team senior football so i would imagine for just a couple games they would want to play it safe...we all know that he can contribute in more advanced positions...interesting the free kick that was teed up for him first half, shows they know he's got a cracken in his feet to unleash...

if Verratti and him in our team that would be dream pair now, i'm so depressed we didn't get him, i hope he will not turn into a legend in football that we just lost for 2 million difference :(
