This being his first start, playing alongside experienced players, he probably does not want to step on other players toes. You won't see him asking for the ball aggressively or etc. He is running around in the space, the players around have a responsibility of taking such initiative, based on the work rate Pogba has been doing in the game so far. Taking such initiatives comes with experience and the trust from players around you I believe.
agreed.

he had a better second half anyway. solid debut

Not a bad game. Was far from great though.
He doesn't make himself available for the ball. Also should try to play more difficult passes.

He's 19, it was his debut in Seria a, and he was playing in Pirlo's place, he did great, didn't risk to much and tried to play it safe.
Couldn't ask more from him on his first game for us.

Bonehead the idiot needs to realise that it was a 352 we were playing and not a 532, he also needs to realise pirlo not being on the field does not making him daddy in our half. Fucking annoying game, of course no errors defensively but ran by pogba like he didnt exist.

Pogba sucked too, ok not sucked but did not provide much. Maybe coz i was expecting a lot from him. Was solid defensively though.

I think he's more of an orthodox DM than a replacement for Pirlo.

Liked his game, you could see he's talented, seems like a good option when Pirlo needs rest against the smaller teams.

Probably the best under 20 player in our team for years. He played like a mature, experienced player. We will have lots of good from Pogba. And for free too.

I actually thought he was quite intelligent, he ended up in the right position to pick up balls quite often. He doesn't seem to be particularly great at tackling but is a bit like an octopus and toed quite a few balls away from opponents with his long legs earlier on.

Obviously his passing is unquestionably one of his biggest assets, short or long. I think he'll be a good vice-Pirlo, and he has the physique to be trusted even in bigger games.

One thing that I haven't seen anyone comment on:

He wins 9/10 of his aerial duels. Chievo were unable to start attacks with the goal kicks they had. The balls were either won or knocked out to throw ins, really disturbed their rythm.
