yup. i dont like how the zidane example keeps getting mentioned. that was more than 14years ago. it was a one of a kind deal under very different circumstances.
The zidane deal was completely different than this one (completely).

We were at the top of Europe back then, Zidane had played many seasons with us helping the team winning a CL title and reach 3 finals. He had done it all and he was in his late 20's so it made sence to sell him for a record fee back then.

Pogba is waaay too young, he's on the way up and he's yet to win any european titles with us.

More worrying is that I dont trust Marrota with that money (at all). Whenever we've spent a high fee on any player (in the region of 15 mil or so) we tend to sign the wrong player or someone who hardly adds to the team (with the exception of Tevez and Vidal) the rest were either a complete failure or just average players. That should send red signals.

I agree with you, but Zidane didn't won a CL with us. There are many other factors why the sell of Pogba won't be any good. One reason is the lack of quality players in other italian teams which we can buy and know that we have immediately leveled up.

Pogba could be to Juve what Ronaldinho was to Barca. An extremely entertaining and effective player that football fans from all over the world can enjoy watching and would tune in just to see what he is going to do next even if they are not Juve fans. Barca's commercial success is largely due to Ronaldinho's brilliance which gave the club an amazing marketing opportunity.

Keep him at Juve for 2-3 years. Let him build Juve a wider international fanbase (especially amongst youngsters) and make him the center of the team. Let him take the penalties, give him attacking freedom, make him the club's poster boy, publish youtube videos full of his tricks, praise him in the media, hype his price, sell his shirts, get him to have twitter sessions with fans and live Q & A sessions, campaign for him in awards, put him on Fifa's cover, get him to be awesome on Fifa and FM, Nike advertisements, get club legends to mention him in the press and praise him to the sky, get him to donate money for some cancer kids and make the press know how generous he is. This guy could be a commercial goldmine and if he goes to madrid his commercial potential will be overshadowed by that of Ronaldo.

When all that is said and done, then sell him for mega money to Madrid and rebuild your squad using his money and the much increased income level generated off his back.

:agree:

Do you think he should keep the #6?
I think it's marketable enough.

i really don't understand all this selling propaganda.. its not like we are drowning in debt. its either we have the ambition to achieve CL glory or we are just a team like Udinese which happened to have the luck to have 3 consecutive scudetti and having players like Pogba to sell..

this is getting ridiculous..

I'd say the main problem here is Raiola not us.

He's a greedy Fock and rest sure that he'll do whatever possible in his power to sell his grand jewel. That's the problem when you deal with agents like him.

I truly believe that Pogba would want to stay here, he's setlled well and the fans worship him.

i hope Pogba understands that... it's about him at the end of the day either he realizes that money isn't every thing and calculate the next steps for his ambition to be a club legend or he is striving for more pounds. i hope he is wise enough.

The decision to sell will be down to Pogba not Juve/Raiola.

Raiola will do his usual and encourage a sale over the next couple of windows but it is really down to Pogba where he wants to play. I just think the lure of Real Madrid will sway him eventually, unless we can build a competitive team in Europe.

I think he seems quite smart though and realizes that he is continuing to progress and has the majority of his career in front of him, there shouldn't be a big rush to leave this summer.

A lot will depend on us. If we treat Pogba super nice Raiola is not gonna talk him into a transfer, his whole argument is based on what's best for the player.
