it's amazing to know that people here geninely think if we had 100m, that we would not try to sign quality players.

i am amazed by the stupidity of some members here. time to call it as it is because being nice wont help

sick of tired of running into every thread and having it ruined by the negative energy of this vocal minority that talks out of their ass.

they have no idea what they are talking about and act out in like a 13 year old school girl in response to any negative news.

"But but... in FM14 I sold Giovinco to Lverpool for 20m and Asamoah to Chelsea for 35m and used the funds to buy Hazard, Marcello and Shaqiri. How hard can it be?"

Depends on who/what/when/where. In another couple years that post could be meaningless if someone breaks the transfer record. Pogba is the best young central midfielder in the world and those are hard to come by. I'd rather keep him until we reach his maturity, sort of like a 5-year bond.
I can appreciate that. But I think history has proven that taking the money on offer and re-investing it yields positive results. Look at Zidane, 75 million euro is insane money now, let alone for back then. We took that money and bought Buffon, Thuram and Nedved. More recently, look at Napoli. They received just under 100 million euro from PSG for Cavani and Lavezzi, and with that they bought in Higuain, Callejon and Mertens and as much as I dislike Napoli, you have to admit that they're a better side for it. 100 million euro can benefit us a lot. Buffon and Pirlo aren't getting any younger and will need to be replaced in the near future, I wouldn't mind some extra defensive cover and maybe another midfielder and even another attacking option. I think we could fill a lot of holes with 100 million euro, and to forego that for one player, no matter how good he is or will be, is a mistake.

Curious how Napoli are better? Without cavani they went to not making it in the cl this season and crashing group stages last season. And without cavani they have fallen behind roma and can't compete for scudetto either.

I think that they're much more balanced and have more quality across the pitch with a few more options up front. Admittedly this season they didn't qualify, but last season they missed out on qualifying out of a group with Dortmund and Arsenal by I think 1 goal difference after winning 4 games and beating both of those sides. I still think they're a better side than they were before, simply that Roma have improved as well. And you can argue that Roma improved as a result of selling Lamela and Marquinhos to bring in new players and making a 15 million euro profit on Benatia after 12 months. I think it's simple to look purely at the numbers and statistics and say what's what, but that doesn't always correspond to what's happening in the real world when everything is put into perspective. And looking purely at the numbers, in his last season Cavani scored 38 goals in all competitions while in their first season, Higuain, Callejon and Mertens scored 57 goals total.
