He makes some interesting/valid points, but his approach is simplistic. He focuses on on Pogba, but there are many other variables. Football itself might change in the next 5-10 years. I think he is still young and lacking in maturity, the author of the article that is.

However, Juventus need to continue to build a strong brand, and the Milan trannies being bought by the Chinese will only serve to increase the popularity of the league (the verdict is still out on competitiveness tho). We need Serie A to rise again, and we should be at the forefront of that revolution. Marketing our brand has to be a priority, because without marketing the money won't come in, and without money, we won't be able to buy the best players, and without the best players we won't be able to compete in the CL, and that is where real exposure is.

Let's hope they are not gonna make such a mistake again. Don't get me wrong, I can agree with the author's opinion of Pogba's perspective and how the board should have looked at this. But if, as the authors sees it, Dybala is the next Messi, Sandro the best Brazilian player, Pjaca on Suker's path - we are a definitely not in the same position Manchester was when they sold Ronaldo. Especially financially. In my opinion we should have kept Pogba and the reason we sold him, probably was the board getting greedy and not thinking in the long term. However, I don't think we are financially as "stable" as many think we are, in a league that can either go further down in the upcoming years or reboot, which will still take some time. And in the end this is probably the true reason of letting Paul leave.

My belief is that Pogba/Raiola notified Marotta early on that they wanted to leave. This is what conspired in Marotta buying Pjanic and then Higuain. Hence purchases from here might be dissapointing because that was what the Morata and Higuain money was for.

It's not a fair comparison because there's no way you can say that Juventus would have won more CL's with Zidane rather than Nedved and Buffon. Real Madrid has nothing to do with it.

Calciopoli also side tracked us somewhat. We don't know whether we could have won a champions league with Zlatan and company still at the club if it weren't for Calciopoli.

Very simplistic view.
Not saying it's not.

But if looking to this problem as simply as possible it is not the best thing to sell best youngest and most marketable player on the team for the teams future.

Though I'm ok with him going. At least won't be seeing that dab shit anymore or his newest hairstyles.

It's not even fair to compare Zidane with Pogba. Zidane was best player in the world, Pogba is not, but Pogba can be (and somewhat already is) best money making machine while being one of the best in his position too.
