People compare him to Yaya Toure, which is both fair and unfair in my eyes. They're both strong, but Yaya is more powerful. Pogba is more technical than Yaya and a better pure dribbler.
The thing with a prime time Yaya Toure is he's very direct in his playing style. He just rushes the ball forward with raw strength and fires in the goal. If Pogba can become more direct and goal-oriented, he'll surpass Yaya easily. But again, for us fans, Pogba is an entertainer and boy do we like seeing him flash his tricks. But in terms of efficiency for this team, he should be more direct and ruthless. He's got all the physical and technical attributes to become a pure beast.

Tho he is more of a midfielder then Yaya ever was, Yaya is box to box that honed his skills to rush and blast in goals, physical beast and great shot but he is pretty mediocre in everything else. He used to be decent at winning balls early on, but his work ethic is near zero, and technical level not above decent (Yaya looks quite clumsy while Pogba is BEYOND world class at it). Tho his passing is good, its just not something he overly focuses on (while Pogba is quite involved in making plays). He basically functions as an AM because thats when he stands out, going forward and helping attack. When he is restricted to being just CM, he is not really better then your ordinary center mids, except he can occasionally wake up and threaten, but his lazy work rate brings him down alot. He is the kind of player that can fool you in thinking he is overally better then he is because his end product is top class, but his overall midfield duties is left very wanting (mainly due to his attitude, and not exactly lack of abilities), but that doesnt tend to show in hightlight reels.
For example basic clip of their season so far showcases their difference of skillset quite clearly (since its the kind of clips thats supposed to showcase only your best moments).

Hopefully Pogba can reach the consistency stage where he can score 20 goals like Yaya at his best did (for that to happen Pogba needs to become more consistent shooter AND play as AM basically), but other then that, a decade younger and he is already the superior player for me.

As you said, the next step for Pogba should be to implement more goals to his game. I know he plays deeper than Yaya, but he's so immensely talented that he can achieve what Yaya achieves even from a deeper position. As we saw yesterday against Chievo, he gets to alot of good positions. He just has to polish his finishing from both long and short range.

Yeah true, he needs to work on it because his long range shooting is overrated considering people remember the screamers, but forget how he cant even hit the goal frame with the alot of attempts he has per game, its more power then finesse too much. But his short range shooting is potentially fine, excellent finisher, but he rarely gets in or around box with good positions to finish them. Yaya scores screamers too, but most of his goals are actually positioning himself around box and finishing like a typical attacker.
