Extortion or not, they got what they wanted:

"Zdenek Grygera will complete the season in Amsterdam, after which he will leave to Juventus on a free transfer. The Czech international signed a five-year deal for the Italian club, according to his manager.

Initially, Grygera was expected to leave for Turin in January but Ajax were unwilling to let him go before the end of the season."

According to Tuttosport, Grygera will be back next week with his agent to sign the contract...

He will get a 2-million-euro salary in Juve while he is getting right now in Ajax 800000 euro...

Yeah, but lets try to calculate in that we SOLD many of our players, so technically Milan would still be the highest income Club in Italy.
I don't think so. And even if this happens, it would be a temporary situation until we return back to Serie A and Europe with world class players.

Zdenek Grygera is in Turin. Yesterday morning the Ajax defender, accompanied by Alessio Secco and team manager Gianluca Pessotto, reached the Stadio Olimpico to undergo the medical tests of doctor Riccardo Agricola. The central defender has not, however, signed his contract yet. But it's just a detail as the deal has already been reached with the player and for the signature the green light is expected from the player's agent. Next week player and agent will be back in Turin to finish off the deal by putting pen to paper.

Grygera will stay at Juventus for four years and will earn two million euros per season, whereas now he earns 800 thousand euros at the Dutch club. It will be an important reinforcement for a Juve squad who want to earn a place in Europe as they return to Serie A next season. The objective is to play in the Champions League after only one year back in Serie A. For now the Bianconeri have made two signings for free. Other than the Czech defender we shouldn't forget the acquisition of Hasan Salihamidzic, a very capable midfielder of Bayern Munich who has been doing really well and who continues to impress in the Bundesliga.

this is what I was interested in, we r offering him almost double what he used to get. Good deal by Secco ? Not talking about the player just the deal

Zdenek Grygera was reportedly in Turin on Wednesday undergoing medical examinations at Juventus.

The Czech defender is to join Juventus from Ajax in the summer after deciding not to extend his deal with the Dutch club.

Grygera will join the Bianconeri as a free agent when his contract at the Amsterdam Arena expires at the end of the current campaign.

The 26-year-old has not yet signed his contract with Juventus, but is expected to move to the Stadio delle Alpi on a five-year deal worth around €1.5million (£1million) a season.

Grygera's international team-mate Pavel Nedved is thought to have played a major part in persuading the stopper to snub other clubs and move to Juventus.
