Siena transfer guru Giorgio Perinetti has revealed that Roma are interested in promising defender Cristian Molinaro.
The stopper, who was tipped to win his first call-up to the Italy squad before the Romania clash was cancelled, has caught the eye this term.
“I can confirm that Roma have contacted us to enquire about his contractual situation,” stated the Tuscan sporting director.
However, Juventus will have a say in the player’s future seeing as he is co-owned between both Bianconeri outfits.
“He signed a new deal with us until 2011 recently which illustrated that he is very tied to this outfit,” added Perinetti.
“We’ve believed in him for some time.
“
Now we’ll have to see what Juventus decide. We have an excellent relationship with them and we’ll obviously speak with them first before making any decisions on Molinaro.
“No meeting has yet been set-up with the Turin club, but it is now clear that the player is being watched by the big Italian sides.”
Molinaro, born in 1983, started his career with hometown team Salernitana in 2000 and remained there until Juve and Siena signed him in 2005.
