That is of course your opinion, and you are entitled to it; however, it isn't gospel, and anything but fact.
Of course. The objective reality is that their transfer fees were similar (if we include all fees and commissions). We'll see how their careers go.

:howler: He hasn't accomplished anything. He has the potential, but that's about it. Currently, Dybala is clearly the better and more established player.
I know what you mean but this is the reality of the transfer market at the moment. Big clubs overpay massively for potential. Just look at that Vinicius Junior deal..

It used to be good business to buy young players with potential and develop them but at the moment it's a lot more cost effective to buy proven, experienced players.

Guys, a minute of silence for Barca: You are now aware of the fact that they traded Neymar for Dembele and Paulinho. Their mercato is so bad I'm wondering if Beppe works for them now

Apparently, according to l'Equipe they are discussing a loan with an option, something to have with FFP.

Yeah, I think it's basically a done deal already. It's just a huge transfer so details are leaking slowly.

Still, it's funny how PSG is trying to avoid the FFP but I have no idea how it's possible cause sooner or later they will use the option/obligation. What's the point? Their numbers will look all red so they will have to sell tons of their players.

I read in l'Equipe, that if it's a loan with an obligation, UEFA may have count it on this summer, so you have a Neymar, Mpabbe transfer in the same window.

An option, would mean that the transfer wouldn't count for this summer.

I think that the same we do, similar to Benatia, Costa, it's written as an option but we know it's an obligation IRL.

Yes, that's that.

You can loan a player with an option like "if PSG stays in Ligue 1, they have to buy him", and we all know PSG will still be in ligue 1 next year. Almost all clubs do that when they don't want a transfer fee to appear in the current fiscal year calculs.

Now lets talk about L'Equipe, and their crusade against PSG.

L'Equipe is saying some wrong things according to Paris-United.

L'Equipe is saying mbappé will earn 18m per year. It's false according to PU who said 10.5m

L'Equipe is saying it's 180m without bonus, while all the other sources give 145m+35m bonus. They do that often, so that the fees seem even more outrageous to their readers (who in majority hate PSG)

So far PU got everything right, while L'Equipe is pretty awful when it's about PSG.

And L'Equipe overall seems to be anti PSG, and every days publishes an article of how PSG will be excluded of CL because of FFP. Their last interview of the FFP leader by Etienne Moatti from yesterday is a piece of shit. All the questions are oozing with a "when will you sanction PSG, pretty please, I want them out" feeling.

I think FFP will punish them in some ways, but L'Equipe is just ridiculing itself at the moment.

..read the option is something like this: "If PSG remains in Ligue 1 they will take the option and buy him." So ridicolous

They won't race for the title nor they plan to win the CL. How can a 'small' club rejected a 180mln offer for any player? We would have accepted a lot less compared to that bid if we had him.
then again last summer 105m for Pogba and 90m for Higuain looked like retarded fees, in the context of this summer they actually look like somewhat normal amounts. what if they wait one more year? It's highly possible that they get to keep their leader for one more year and sell him for even more next year if the market gets even more retarded, Mbappe is unique, very low chance that during the season we'll see new Mbappe's emerge

it also makes little sense for Mbappe, the guy wants to end up in RM one day and he clearly has a lot better chances to get there if he's playing for Monaco not PSG, who never sell their best players, just look at Verratti-Barcelona saga this summer

He is unique, no doubt about that.

However I doubt it's that easy. In case he doesn't impress his value might slice in half. Also, it's probably him and his agent pushing out from the club as it's a once in a lifetime opportunity since he'll be 2nd highest paid player ever.

When Real Madrid wants some player then it's going to happen for sure imo. PSG doesn't have that status but it's the money that you just can't refuse.

Because I'm... not a moron.

Or... I just think PSG aren't morons at this point. With Neymar - Mbappe and Cavani upfront they can only dream about chasing the title next to PSG.

PSG will tear the leage apart this season and probably score at least 3+ goals in every match.
