Mancini clearly has a soft spot for Balo and he’s been having a good season. A motivated Balo can still be an impactful player.
Anyways, that shouldn’t minimize Fagioli’s inclusion. Serie B player getting a call up should always be noteworthy, especially when it comes at a position the country is stacked in, even with the injuries. Guys like Pobega got passed over for example.
Every single one of our current midfielders bar Arthur is regularly called up by their national team. The hyperbole about the lack of quality in our mid is vastly over the top, just like it was with the previous generation of our mid, with people constantly crying about Khedira and Matuidi.

There is zero chance that Allegri would currently start him over Bentancur or Rabiot.
I'm not claiming it is, but thinking that basically anyone would start over the current bunch is just wrong. They're not nearly as bad as is made out, people have simply fallen into some form of deep depression thanks to our recent struggle that prevents them from seeing clearly. The overall negativity around this place is just crazy.

Ramsey was literally named the biggest flop of Serie A and Arthur was third in that list...
Rabiot has been blast by fans, ex players and journalists and the only player who Allegri actually said had to improve more (Allegri! the coach who dont blast players in public)
Benta has cost us points and games
But they all have been call to their NT's so that makes them not su$#?
Well Balotelli has been call to Italy's NT... I guess that makes him good quality?

Juventus are one of the ten biggest clubs in the world, having players called up by their national team is standard procedure for a club of that level.

I know you would take them back but we were in the minority, the amount of shit they got didn't differ much from the shit the current bunch is getting.
I think a bigger issue than individual quality is the redundancy of their skill sets. Too many defensive minded, technically limited mids, not enough playmakers. Like Bentancur for example would work great next to two technical mids imo. That’s managements fault.

Yes they are flops and were terrible deals when you compare their output to the money they cost and I'm also in the camp that thinks that Ramsey is quite probably done at the top level. However neither Ramsey or Arthur are starters, Rabiot or Bentancur are. Allegri has previously also asked Pogba and Dybala to do more in public. Imo it tells that Allegri actually sees something in the player.
I'm not the one who brought the called up by their national team argument up. Cerval used Fagioli being called up to shit on our current players and I simply pointed out that these players also get called up.

Didn't say anyone could start over them. I'm saying it makes sense to trust, more than was the case before, a youngster that is progressing and hungry rather than players that are not performing. Of course, not burden him with pressure by making him default starter, but at least show more confidence in him when the alternatives are not hungry.
These midfielders are not up to the task. Mind numbing to see them play, I don't know why you think its not justified.

Completely agree with this. It's definitely a somewhat incompatible bunch, and could use some more technical players. The problem is that to convince Allegri and actually get to play games you need to do the defensive side very well as well.
For example I think at least initially it would be easier for Fagioli to get game time in the role Dybala currently plays.

At the start of the season I'd have probably agreed with you, but I've seen the hunger in the past couple of months. There has been a noticeable shift in effort and mentality imo.

its clear Allegri wants a regista, both rovella and Fagioli can fill that role and allow Locatelli to roam. Fagioli’s biggest improvement this season has been defensively imo. He averages 1.5 tackles a game, which is very good especially when you consider he hasn’t always been playing in front of the defense this season. I agree with brutto, he can also fit in Dybala’s role and has played there for Cremonese.
btw I don’t think Fagioli being loaned to serie B was Allegris decision lol. That had as much to do with the players we were stuck with as anything. Wages dictate playing time. Look at what Max said yesterday about Ake. Called him a game breaker but said they have to stick with Berna and Kulu. And tbh this season has been good for Fagioli’s development. He took a step up in competition, got to play regularly, and has firmly established himself as a prospect. The next step is serie A, and hopefully at Juve. He’s ready.
