That game should have been 1-1 with Ghana deservedly moving on, too bad they won't have Essien for the Brazil match. They should be very nice in 2010. Dempsey scored a goal and out danced Peter Crouch so I really can't complain. It must suck that Claudio Reyna's last World Cup play was so poor. Bruce Arena will probably retire in the next week. Oh well enough of this. I can't wait for the Soccer Roos game. They are my team now.

It just happens to be the utmost game with the utmost blatant wrong call in favour of the most profitable team.
see your point in most of this, but surely the most profitable team would be america. now and long term fifa would want the american interest high, mainly for the amount of money they can get through sponsorships from commercials

You can drag Asia in to mass hysteria very fast, but the US are just not interested in football at the moment. Besides they already hosted the WC in 1994 to boost the American interest, no need to boost it again. The World Cup will be organised in Africa in 2010, the African interest is already high and African football is growing. Seems like an obvious call to me.

yeah its real hard when there are no opposing players on their half, my point is you were wrong you said that only with Inzaghi Italy would win, he was simply a non factor.

But considering Africa will be hosting the next World Cup, it's quite obvious they would not want every single African team eliminated so early. That would be terrible for the run up to World Cup 2010, in which I'm sure FIFA will want African nations to do well. The organisers have been successful without America before, so there is no reason to help us out. Our World Cup was held here 12 years ago.

see your point but IMO fifa is less interested in boosting interest and more interested in the green:money: :money: :money: , so in that case there is more money to be had by america progressing......just saying is all
i see where you are both coming from in keeping an african team in and keeping interest but yankee dollars are normally more important to FIFA

You must remember if the RSA doesn't pick up its construction the World Cup will be in the US in 2010.

I don't agree, because a Ghana win today would mean much more money in 2010.

Yes, much better than Belgian television.
I'm a little disappointed. I expected more Youri Mulder and Hugo Borst. Aad de Mos and Danny Blind are alright, but definitely not my first choice.

Still beats the matches show on RTL7, presented by that godawful Barbara Barend though. Not exactly a motivator to watch Ghana-USA instead of Italy-Czech Republic...

EDIT: Wait, you don't get RTL7 and the other commercial channels do you?
