I was a fan of Rui Costa back in his old Viola days, however now he is simply too old to play for Juventus and would not really fit either with our system. I would much rather have someone such as Maresca at this point in time, but obviously he will never come back to the side that never gives him a chance.

We could really use those slick playmaking skills of Rui Costa, but I'm just afraid he is simply too old and worn out to play a major role for Juventus. If we want a playmaker we should really think about making a move for Rosicky, who can also play centrally or push out on the wing as an "anti-winger" sort of player.
Too old wouldn't really be an issue IMO as we'd only use him for one season two seasons at most. Just to get through this transition phase.

please enlighten me as to what happened....
After the warming up Del Piero had a long talk with Capello (without pointing to any possible injured body parts) and after that he left Sisport, without ever consulting someone from the medical staff. An hour later he returned and went to train on himself.

Actually not exactly, Graham. There has been many decent discussions within the past year, however this thread has indeed fallen from the level it was previously at. Nonetheless, this thread is still the best of the forum, and that is simply obvious when you look at the surroundings.

And don't mind us... we're simply browsing. ;)

FIGC Vice-President Mazzini resigns
Wednesday 10 May, 2006
After FIGC President Franco Carraro, it was confirmed this evening that Vice-President Innocenzo Mazzini has also resigned.

The Federation released an official statement announcing the decision to hand in his resignation following the growing scandal surrounding Juventus.

Bianconeri director general Luciano Moggi’s alleged telephone conversations with refereeing designator Pierluigi Pairetto were recorded by investigators and printed in newspapers in Italy last week.

“My current state of mind in personal and federal terms is extremely uncomfortable,” explained Mazzini.

“As a citizen and a man of sport, I have not been hit by disciplinary action, or a legal challenge Nonetheless, I feel it best to leave now and clarify any misunderstanding.”

The Federation has come under increasing pressure as a result of the telephone interception allegations which has brought into question the credibility of the Italian game.

Although Carraro pledged that the “sporting justice system would act quickly and with vigour,” he threw in the towel on Monday.

“The Federation’s commitment in the coming days and months are so many and large that it will need a management that is fully able to fulfil its functions and concentrate on itself,” stated Carraro.

Carraro’s decision to step down, which he was set to do later this year anyway, has seen Vice-President Giancarlo Abete automatically promoted to the top job.

Translation:
Once upon a time there was a girl called Barbara. Barbara had a greengrocery, and she sold rhubarb. Therefore everyone called her Rhubarb Barbara. Later on she opened a pub. The name of the pub was: Rhubarb Barbara's Bar. Some wild men, real barbarians, came to visit: the Rhubarb Barbara's Bar Barbarians. The Barbarbians had humongous beards! The Rhubarb Barbara's Bar Barbarians' Beards. And the barber who had to trim the beards was dubbed the Rhubarb Barbara's Bar Barbarians' Beard Barber!

If all this is true, fuck you Moggi and fuck you Giraudo. How dare you cheat on the behalf of Juventus.
What annoys me is that has been going on for years and EVERYONE knew about it. Look at the attitude most of us had before the Siena game: "Oh it's Siena? That shouldn't be too hard ;)."

Any club that has been caught with fraud both on the field of football and finances should be severly punished IMO. Not to mention the fact that the whole drugs issue was rather fishy as well. As far as I'm concerned we DO get demoted, because Serie A needs to wiped clean.

If Juve were to fall back to Serie D; I'd consider turning back to supporting them. The whole rich-old-men-holding-hands atmosphere that's been surrounding the club and attracted golddigging fans massively put me off a few years ago.

If this is indeed true we must be demoted back into the depths of Serie C. I have come close to puking several times tonight, Andries, and that is not because of the alcohol. I simply cannot support a side that cheats and gets away away with it, and if the only way to wipe us is for us to fire all our leaders and be be demoted to the bottom of Italy, then so be it. This is simply disgusting and chances are one of these stories is indeed ture.

I suspect we'll probably escape punishement though. We'll oust Moggi, so that he can be the scapegoat and take the blame for it all.

I sincerely hope we do not escape punishment, as that is unfair to Italy and unfair to football in general. Moggi and that Torro scumbag Giraudo deserves to be burned at the stake if this is true, success or no success.

This is what we know for sure:

1) Everyone's always hinting Juve "bought" a game. Even Juventini are glad to play against the likes of Siena, because we all realise they aren't going to pose a single threat.

2) Moggi's responsible for a lot of players in Italy. Automatically that means he holds some control over those players. Doesn't make the Serie A a cleaner competition, now does it.

3) This isn't the first scandal we're in. It isn't the first time we're trying to put the blame down to one man either (Moggi). Everyone seems to forget we fvcking employed Moggi and asked him to do what he did.
