For instance, I wonder what you'll think, being a military guy, if he ends up sending in our own troops to find illegals in the inner cities to deport them, potentially creating war zones in some of these places. I don't know if you are a reservist or not, but this seems to be a dangerous decision if you ask me. Some of the other Agenda 2025-ish policies I can't imagine you liking, so if they come to fruition then hopefully it doesn't impact you. Of course, it will be hell for a lot of Americans, especially pregnant women and pretty much anyone without a family, but if you're a dude who makes a lot of money and doesn't need to round folks up then you probably will be OK.

If this is the case, then why don’t you and Trump focus on pushing back against the Federal Reserve and its crawling inflation policies? You know full well the Fed is going to lower rates including when Trump is in office and that’s going to hurt people who need a strong dollar, notwithstanding the tariffs as well. People who live vicariously through Trump are why we have a J6 or bus drivers get punched in the face. They’re nothing but a bunch of losers who have to rely on a fascist government to make their lives whole. They’re fucking losers bro, you know it.

I can understand the point of securing the border and I actually support that. But I don't see how it's feasible to round up a million illegals. This seems like a massive police state in the making and it will cost the lives of good people in LE or national guard. You're not going to send a team of reservists into Compton for instance and think they're just going to let them do whatever they want.

I understand your focus on immigration.

It's almost always among the key topics in European countries as well.

I wonder though if people might overestimate the numbers. In Europe much of the debate centers around immigration, but realistically it's far from our biggest concern.

Let's look at the actual numbers for the US (https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2024/07/22/what-we-know-about-unauthorized-immigrants-living-in-the-us/#:~:text=As of 2022, unauthorized immigrants,to 36.9 million in 2022.):

Meanwhile, the lawful immigrant population grew steadily from 24.1 million in 2000 to 36.9 million in 2022.

And:

The 4.0 million unauthorized immigrants from Mexico living in the U.S. in 2022 was the lowest number since the 1990s. And in 2022, Mexico accounted for 37% of the nation’s unauthorized immigrants, by far the smallest share on record.

It appears there has not been an increased influx of illegal immigrants in recent years. And it's unclear if closing the border (I assume you mean the American-Mexican border) would be the answer. After all illegal immigration by Mexicans has been in decline.

I'm not saying people shouldn't think of immigration as an important topic. But maybe there are other things that require more immediate attention.

I used to work for a big tech company during Trump’s first term. One day an old cleaning lady was complaining to a Spanish speaking colleague about ICE raids and how she’s afraid that they’re gonna deport her. On the same day the CEO of that company was announced as an economic consultant to the president.

wouldn't deporting millions of people who likely work long hours in low paying jobs with no benefits and minimal safety regulations likely be at odds with Trump's donors? Sure, his base is all about it but the folks actually giving him money/ significant backing probably don't want to lose access to that exploitable labor force

Unless they can make money in the lodging and transporting of the millions of illegals. I also think the advent AI and ML beckons, and the donors for those type of solutions have deeper pockets.

I think Elon sees trump as his way to giving Tesla a foot up on the competition. Tariffs on Japanese, German, Chinese cars, more govt stimulus for Tesla, etc. basically regulate the market to force Tesla down everyone’s throat

I think most of the technology is ready and is being curbed to slowly transition but that's just my opinion.

As for federalized police state, we are 100% there.
