I'm one of those few psychos who believes short term pain for long term gain. It's a dying dinosaur industry and we don't need to prop it up anymore than it already is subsidized. Yes, the transitions aren't in place yet and won't be for a long time. But we cannot keep dishing out the heroin hits thinking we're weaning off the drug.
Over 50% of the country is heated by natural gas. Believing in some sort of fairy-tale green scenario right now is just retarded, sorry.

That argument is much more apt for fiat currency.

I probably seem extremist about this and uncaring about the poor who won't be able to afford heat, but there aren't enough methadone clinics to fulfill demand. Humans are going to have to improvise. It won't be pretty, but it's what we do.

We're facing the same with some food supply lines and semiconductors already. Add nat gas to the mix.

Dem krauts better fire up the nuke plants or bargain with an equally dubious but slightly less suicidal Near-East.

Natural gas is actually very efficient and somewhat clean, so is propane. Not going away any time soon. But you aren't alone:

We really should've started really diversifying our energy sources and updating infrastructure over the past two administrations when the economy was for the most part stable and in a good place.
That’s not the millennial narrative though … which is about how hard they’ve had it with a financial meltdown and a pandemic.

And as if nature wanted to point out privilege when you have it, throwing WWIII at them should do the trick though.

People slag on federal reserve banks and inflationary policy for a lot of good reasons. But going full-on lib-(ertarian)tard in believing that a nation should never have inflation under any circumstances is another fantasy. Or that there shouldn't be checks and balances for the average Joe getting raped by financial con men.

Crypto is fascinating to me because it's like a libertarian wet dream, and we're all seeing how brutal, fraudulent, and hostile it has become to anyone with good intentions.

Ask Trumpers about healthcare. Repeal is the easy part. Replace is far more complicated to do right.
