If it was Canadians the Capital building would definitely have been burnt down. A little late but it would have been a fitting 200th anniversary celebration of burning down the White House :)
Well - that would mean your Canadians hate Congress as much as I do, so as long as they bring the Molson and/or Labatt...

Do you think the US and/or NATO should go to war over this? Serious question. @Bjerknes too?
That's up to NATO and whether or not they care about Ukraine or not. No, I'd prefer not. I doubt Andy will want it either.

Agree with you. I’d prefer America let Europe deal with their own messes. And by extension Canada too.

Molson/Labatt are awful beers. There are a lot of fantastic microbreweries in Ontario. Demand better.

Nassim, dude really? :D only person i ever blocked on twitter, toolbox. As for extrapolating police state from deterrence i think that you looking at it from your perspective. My gun is my deterrence, i can guarantee you there's a lot less
Oh, he's a complete d*ck, no question. One of the most loathsome, egotistical pr*cks on the planet. But he's often right. Reluctantly so.

How many business have been burned or looted by these fringe drivers? Any violence from them? I mean, despite the kids bouncy houses and food tables, they look pretty rowdy to me. Rowdy enough to declare a state of emergency and execute extreme powers against them. And Trumpkin was the dictator
Who needs looting? Some people want to prosecute on the basis of you merely for being in the street for a protest... and will even absolve motorists from running them over.

Hello, Florida...

But you're kidding yourself if you don't think virtually everyone in Ottawa wants them gone from their homeless encampments in the streets.

This gem:

Absolutely. But it's their call to make, not the governments. That's their point. If COVID hadn't become so political from the beginning, you'd probably have a much higher vaccinated % b/c more people would be more trustful of the government. Here, you have one party under the last admin speaking daily how they'd refuse the "trump vaccine" now they want to force it on everyone.
Or testing.

this is so fucked up. Stealing Afghanistan money because of the government revolving door

I still don't understand what the Taliban did during 9/11, other than eat falafel in their caves and mud huts.

This lawyer dude and his buddies must be part of the "swamp" Trump was talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a call the day before to avoid the NYC area and the Pentagon...

The Taliban said "barbecue is in the back" when Al Qaeda came by their checkpoint. But otherwise, yeah -- falafel.

But this guy seems to know how to milk the Beltway for cash alright. :wine:

Taliban provided safe harbor to Bin Laden, and refused to take any action to turn him over after the attacks. But that’s really beside the point here. The corruption at the expense of millions of hungry afghans is so maddening that makes me join the FJB chorus.

what does this mean in regular layman terms?
The Fed is buying US bonds to help the government run huge deficits and flood the market with cheap money. Having your own central bank buy your own bonds is basically a Ponzi scheme where they create "money" out of thin air instead of having a foreign investor buy the bonds. So while this might help stimulate whatever in the short run, it only devalues your currency and causes inflation in the long run. That's why it's ridiculous to say that all this inflation right now is due to Covid - we've never actually corrected the problems from 2008, simply glossing them over with cheap money.
