Indeed - still, all things added up there is still no comparison for conservatives having to battle their way around social media to voice their opinions and wondering when they will get banned. College campuses are no longer areas for free thought. Instead, you shell out 40,000 and worry about pissing off a professor because you think politically different than they do. You even have conservative professors writing open letters to their peers as an anonymous person because they know they will be fired if they disagree. I am sure that you can name plenty of examples on the other side, that's what you're eluding too, which is fine but IMO there is absolutely no comparison.

You can find numerous examples of leftie professors openly advocating extreme positions and even to the point of violence yet THEY will be safe in their careers. As soon as a professor with a conservative opinion says hold on, let's look at this maybe like this and BOOM, cancel culture circles the wagon around that guy/girl until the university/company succumbs to the pressure to remove the person.

Not to mention, evangelicals have been misusing and misquoting the first amendment to suppress the fundamental rights of other citizens for decades.

Thank you for clarifying. Per the first part, you see in the higher positions that are "by appointment only" rotate quickly. A lot quit when the new Admin transition in which is normal b/c they take the job initially in support of what the current office holder agenda is, some are career federal employees that make their way up to higher level positions in the federal government and have lived in this area for a long time, etc. If Biden wins, you will again see a huge transition of employees at those levels. And I'd also like to note, working in the federal government you actually get a lot of more people that swing left because they are native to DC/Maryland/Northern VA which is heavy left, and many of those work their way up on the GS pay scale from lower level to higher in management. That's the nature of the beast here. You'd be surprised how many normal liberals are employed well within the government. It's actually quite normal. The higher conservatives will transition out normally if a new Admin comes in.

Agree with the 2nd part. I've never been a fan of throwing religion in the face of people, conversely, I don't like people not being able to practice their religion either. It's a slippery slope but people should also learn to deal with how the courts decide. Those things can always be contested. The wedding cake one was a tricky one lol

there is something I genuinely don't get and would love someone who lives in the US to explain this to me, last night the gentleman who got shot outside wendy's in Atlanta resisted getting handcuffed.. is there a law that gives people the option to resist doing what a policeman asks you to do? I don't know if the guy was under the influence of alcohol or drugs but isn't the right thing to do is comply with what is being asked of you until you prove your innocence? I would imagine they would get him to pass an alcohol or blood test and then let him go if indeed he was clear...

the second point I could never understand ( yet another reminiscence of the south-central incidents in 92) why go out and burn wendys?? I mean what's the logic behind going out destroying a restaurant that hires people and serves a community? its the same dumb mentality that happened in Egypt during the so-called Arab spring when they went out and burned police stations and police cars that we the dumb people paid for with our taxes and that didn't really serve us well because guess who paid for the new gear they needed....

and before anyone comes at me, I'm not saying anyone deserves to be shot and killed, but again I don't get the "I'm going to resist arrest" and I dare you to shoot me attitude!!

Yea its difficult to understand why anyone would think (even if the arrest is unjustified) physically resisting law enforcement is a good idea at all.

Obviously burning Wendy's is a ridiculous response but some of these people have been riled up and are out for blood. Reason has nothing to do with it.

Most of these areas are now going to see even greater structural poverty when business owners/ residents with money move the out of there ASAP there will be even fewer opportunities for employment / fewer services/ tax dollars for the at risk folks who live there and no future small business owner or megachain will open a new location in high risk areas.

Burning down your own neighborhood is pretty fucking stupid.
