I'm not an American. But I'm still wondering how come these people think Bernie stands a chance in a general election
he stands less of a chance then a black "muslim" whose middle name was hussein?

his healthcare push is something that will ring with a lot of people even Trump country considering how they all have diabetes.

his unapologetic anti corporatism / being an enemy of his own partys estabilishment will endear him to a lot of people.

its funny how you see this kinds of comments about nobody liking bernie and him being unliked in the senate coming from the most coddled/ propped up candidate in history who lost to fucking donald trump

You'd know more than me. I can't imagine his policies will please other people than the Dem voters
Normally I agree with that, but these are not typical times. Nobody thought Trump had a chance at first. Voting has always been about how voters feel about the candidate not what they think about them. Even more so in past few years.
This morning a woman was being interviewed on NPR. She was on medicaid, and disability income, yet she said she’d vote for Trump because Biden is “creepy”. When asked what she thinks about what Trump has said and done she said at least he’s not sneaky. This is crazy season.

Why doesn't he stand a chance? It's just mainstream media BS that make it look like he has no chance.
I'm not saying he's a sure thing, far from it, but he's the best bet to beat Trump for the following reasons:
1)A lot of Trump voters in 2016 voted for him because he was an outsider, they will flock to Bernie if they think he is a better candidate.
2)If you look at it issue by issue, a lot of Sanders proposals have more than 60% percent approval within the general population.
3 )Sanders is beating Trump in head to head polls for quite some time.
4) He is a very good debater, far better than the likes of Warren and Biden
5) Sanders has good favorability in multiple swing states, unlike Hillary in 2016.

All in all, if Sanders gets the nomination, I think he has a 60% chance of winning the presidency.
Any other candidate has less than 20% chance of beating Trump imo.

The problem is that with the way the impeachment trial went, Trump has shown he can get away with using his executive powers how he pleases. Due to that, I wouldn’t expect a fair election. The more time passes, the more I’m convinced the elections have already been rigged.

Is it so hard to believe that nobody except coastal soy cucks would vote a raging angry communist?

He might be anti establishment but he's a total loon unpractical guy, it's like the guy never outgrew college freshman phase.

the thing i like about seeing candidates like bernie and even trump is its a sign that the current 2 party corporate owned political system is eroding. People will vote for anyone they see not to be a part of it and i would hope that, longterm, it could bring real change through either the fracturing of political parties into smaller ones providing more options. The do just barely enough to be slightly less worse/corrupt than the alternative is a bit fucked.

While i dont want a person like Bernie Sanders as president i would like to see some of these estabilishment fatcats sweat when they see how close it comes.

Sanders may be unrealistic at times but i can certainly see his appeal in that he seems to be in this because he genuinely believe his ideas will benefit the country and not just himself / friends

The counter argument to that is that Sanders’ inflexibility and inability in using any sort of political maneuvering will make that movement short-lived. People will turn on you fast if you don’t deliver.

Bernie Sanders has done nothing in his entire life apart from being a political hack who creates no value for anybody whatsoever. Never had a real job, never had a real life experience, et cetera. Now he tours the country preaching that he will give everyone "free" healthcare, "free" education, and other "free" things. Yet not once has he ever demonstrated how any of this will be paid for, nor has he even provided estimates on what his ideas will cost!

He's nothing more than a worse version of a fake preacher. At least Joel Olsteen makes people feel good about themselves. Bernie Sanders makes everyone feel like a retard, just like him.

I feel like if you cut military spending and close tax loopholes that corporations use, you’ll have a lot more available for free healthcare and affordable education. So pretty much take a page out of Northern European countries.

And Trump is creating bigger government deficits than Obama by gifting massive tax breaks to corporations and the rich.

Hardly the small government/balanced budget he promised. :baus:

Bernie may be a screwball, but considering you voted for Trump, you hardly have a reason to be ridiculing those who support Bernie. Opposite extremes of American politics, Trump and Bernie.
