We had a nice example of this shit in Belgium some months ago.
When adressing the media, the major of antwerp was asked about their civil model for including different ethnic groups. His response was the following
"We try to create a civillian identity, based on morals and decency, with freedom of what people practice in their private times, as long as they all follow the basic principles of the democraty (equal rights, etc). Everybody is welcome to join. This has allowed nearly all ethnic groups to be fairly well integrated in Antwerp, and the unemployment rate has been rather well. The only exceptions is the morrocan berber community who is difficult to reach. After which he sums up some recent facts about unemployment rates, dropout rates etcetra"
He was then accused of racism, because he named some facts.
The actual discussion would have been. A major, "a father of his city people", should he publically express these facts, which kinda stigmatises a community ? Well, thats a good discussion. Its political correctness versus freedom of speech and opinion.
But no. The discussion was wether it was racist that he expressed these facts.
And this country is supposed to solve the increasingly serious muslim radicalisation issue in parts of brussel and charleroi.
