Democrats are just jealous that Trump is better than them at saving US jobs. Elite Democrats are pissed they aren't shipping off more US jobs to increase their poor voter base.
I think it's way to early to conclude Trump and his governments ability to protect manufacturing jobs (and alike). But Trump has made an early stance, showing that he is willing to make it a priority. It will be interesting to see how he will conduct actual policy on the area.
Credit where it's due. If 7m is the only thing Carrier got in return it is indeed a great deal for Indiana. However, we don't know the full details of the deal. there are rumors that United Technologies were threatened that they might lose defense contracts, which, if true, is a good way to punish companies who outsourse. On the other hand, Carrier got a tax break and still shipped 1300 jobs to Mexico. which is not exactly "facing consequences".
Also, saving jobs in 1 company cannot be called a "policy". I'll wait until a good policy is announced before rejoicing.
I agree with you - it's too early to conclude that he should be a succes in this regard. But also, and that was my point, way too early to conclude that he won't. What i believe i expressed pretty clearly, and what was certainly my point, is that this is a symbolic piece of communication - showing that Trump will do something (and not just talk cheap during the election), even if he will not in every case be able to reach a perfect solution and even if it in some cases will have a 'cost'. He is not even in office yet, but has already taken action. As i already wrote in this post in my response to Bjerknes: I look forward to see actual policy conducted on the area.

I wonder what the corporate tax rate to 15% will do.
It will hurt other western nations. But to be fair the US should look at itself first.
Trumps policy (or what is expected from him policy-wise) definetely has a backside for EU. How large this effect will be depends on a lot of things, one of them being how the european nations will react. A lower corporate tax level in the US will, as you say, have an impact on Europe. On the other hand, a strong US in growth will also create growth in Europe, so we can't yet conclude what the total effect will be. I hope though, that this could lead to western european nations thinking about tax cuts as well. We are taxed way too heavily in most western european countries.
