I think it was on Reddit where I saw someone comment that US needs a Trump presidency so that politics in the US can be destroyed. And then they start all the way from scratch. Looking at the candidates on both sides, I can't say I disagree.

In all fairness Trump probably isn't retarded. People who make that amount of money and run for President are probably smarter than the vast majority of us. The people who vote on him are retarded though.

He is the least of the evils imo. As far as I know everyone else are being funded by people with agendas, but he is funding his own campaign and he looks like the one who cares most about America.

That's a good point, theoretically he would have less interests to serve. The problem with Trump is that he doesn't seem to care about anyone other than himself. And then there's the part where he doesn't look like he knows or cares to know much about foreign policy, domestic policy, immigration, the military, etc. :D

Then again, how has US foreign policy been any good the last.. let's say 12-15 years? If those guys knew much about foreign policy we wouldn't even need to see Trump's face :D

I don't think it can get any worse for USA in terms of the Presidency. I don't like any of the candidates, but I hope Clinton doesn't win it. Rand Paul and Ben Carson looks decent, but they won't get the public's backing like Trump has gotten so far.

On the democratic side Bernie Sanders looks interesting, but I haven't gotten around to reach much about him. Anyone?

what I wonder is how do they train these candidates to be so detestable? is there a special seminar they go to?

Sanders is pretty much a socialist. But he's a good guy. Has a lot of passion for the country and doesn't bow to special interests. Do I think he would do the job as a president? No. Do I think he has valid points and adds a different dimension to the conversation? I do. So for that, I'm glad he's running.

It's a republican thing. They feel that in order to win their base they need to look "strong". But most of them confuse strong with asshole and there you have it.
