It's funny how the arguments around tax rates have changed so drastically post-Reagan tax cuts for the wealthy in the 80s. The idea of even a percent or two hike is considered election suicide now.
I was raised by people with that mentality and then I grew up.
I can somewhat understand the boomers having troubling shedding this mentality, they were raised post ww2 in an era where the US massively benefited from being the only major manufacturing power left standing, but fuck, times change. This isn't the same world that existed 50 years ago. A decade brings change that formerly took centuries.
