Just thought I would update y'all before the shit hits the fan. The hurricane should be back into a category 5 when it makes landfall in Florida, horrible news.

I've had the craziest couple of days going after supplies and ways to protect my home. We have plenty of food and water and we have shutters on all our windows. Electricity will be turned off before it gets here to keep damage to a minimum so they should turn it back on once it's over. I'd be lying if I said I'm not a bit scared, it's a damn category 5! But I'm confident all will be well. Curfew is tomorrow at 3pm and it will hit us Sunday morning.

I'll try to keep you all posted for as long as I have internet.

Indeed, its truly better to just leave, and hope for the best that your house remains when you get back. There isnt much that can be done staying when you have the option of being in complete safety elsewhere.

Flights were being cancelled. My sister took the road and is at Atlanta right now, my and my fiancé didn't want to take the risk and decided to stay. We're well protected where we are. So we'll just hang tight.

Stay safe. My brother lives in Naples area and he flew out today. Latest predictions show the eye of the hurricane go right over his house.

:Agree: not only that, but people may lose insurance documents, which they need to file claims after the storm, if their house gets flooded.

United was doing that. My brother bought a ticket for $290 yesterday and he flew today. JetBlue even announced that all of their direct flights out of Florida will be $99 or less.

stay safe, man. i have some hungarian friends living in the region and they also decided to stay home. i hope you'll get through it safely.
