I cbfed to check if this was mentioned earlier on, but Mozilla also has a faster rendering output rate. This is not to say that it renders pages faster, but it outputs its progress more often than IE, giving the impression that the pages are loading faster. :D

    Yes that's right but on the whole I don't see a difference in rendering speed.

    about:confing also gives you a long list of additional config settings, handy ;)

    Recently, I accidentally figured out in mozilla the awesome search feature, where you just start typing what you want, and it highlights whatever ure looking for :eek:

    Also, in the prefs you can choose which search engine the search is sent to, I have mine set to google :eek::eek::eek:

    I love this thing! Though I've had to break out of my ages-old habit of using F4 to get to the address bar... F6 is slowly being wired into my system...

    A bit hard to explain: Is there a way that I can set new windows to keep the history? Like, If I open a new browser window from here, and I want to navigate back to the default Juventuz forums view, I'd like to be able to press back, instead of being taken to the home page view...

    Ahh also, I'm already used to pressing Ctrl for opening new windows instead of Shift...

    One gripe i have with Mozilla, though, is that since I update my bookmarks regularly, I find it annoying that to delete them and move them around, I have to click on "Manage Bookmarks"

    The popup killer rocks too! I used to use a 3rd party prog in IE, but that didn't even reliably stop popups, and it had an annoying tendency to kill popups that I clicked on too :rolleyes:

    Speaking of that built-in search thingy, after I type what I'm searching for and I find it, how do i tell it to 'find next' ?

    I was looking for themes to download, and :LOL: there's an Internet Explorer theme :LOL:

    I've always used F6 in IE so painless for me ;)

    If I'm getting you then no, a history session is valid for that window only, it works that way in all browsers.

    It does what I want in IE

    It allows you to file the bookmark in the bookmark tree, wherever you want it, instead of appending it to the default list. :)

    I manually follow the links to get to the Juventuz forums. I then proceed to click on the links for

    Community > Off-topic > Technology > This thread

    I then open a new browser window. I want the new window to display this thread rather than my home page. That way, I can press back to get to Technology...

    Oh right, this is kinda neat, you'll appreciate this. ;) When you search for a string in a page (as opposed to searching the web), you can just start typing the query and Mozilla will search for any links with that query string. If you preceed the query with a "/", it will search all text. Then press F3 for the next match. :)

    Okay, here's a question worthy of newbie tech support:

    How do I apply themes from .tar files? I installed the theme installer, and I've tried going to Preferences > Appearance > Themes and tried installing a 'jar theme', and pointed to the .tar but that didn't seem to work. I also can't find anything useful after decompressing the tar...I feel so stupid :wallbang:

    Well I don't think any browser does that, in my experience they all flush the history. What IE does differently is that when you open a new window, it will often open the page you're looking at rather than your set homepage, but it still flushes the history for that new window.

    What's inside the tar archive?

    When I want a new theme, I go to View > Apply Theme > Get new themes. Then I find the one I want on mozdev.org and click "Install it".

    What's the sshot for? I assume there's a jar inside the tar.gz, I guess you would want to point Moz to it and that should be it.
